We are so close to getting a taste of ICS. I can smell the sweetness!
That was the support page post I was talking about earlier.

We will see, I hope its an update to what the last leak is just cause I've noticed a bug or 2. But if they take anything away they'll force me to root which so far, especially with ICS I've just had no reason to. Well, working foxfi would be awesome but oh well.

Verizon Leaked Document Says HTC Rezound to Get Android 4.0 ICS Update (July 29th)
Harold | July 27, 2012 | 4 Comments

Update (07/28): As we reported yesterday, HTC Rezound was due for an ICS update. Now we can fill in the blank for the TBD date. From what we’ve gathered, HTC Rezound will begin releasing ICS updates via OTA starting tomorrow (July 29th). The update is also available for pull on August 1st (check system updates: Settings -> About phone -> System Updates). As you can see below, the size of the update will be 292MB.

What’s also interesting from this screenshot is that only 71% of the Motorola Razr & Maxx ICS updates have been completed so far since they started its update back in June. Verizon has managed to leave out 29% of the Motorola phone owners for the ICS update after a month. So Rezound owners shouldn’t expect too much from Verizon here, give it a couple weeks if you don’t get the upgrade tomorrow.

Soak testing is sending the update out to a small group and monitoring them for bugs. Usually it's around 10,000 users. If that goes well they push it out to a few more, etc.

Is it possible that 29% of Razr and Maxx users don't want the update?

Maybe they are already rooted and/or running an ICS ROM.

I had to force the wife's razr to update, probably just leaving it hanging if people want it. Hers needed factory reset afterwards now it runs like a champ. Nice thing though with ics, after the reset Google actually pushed all the apps back with settings so my suggestion would be accept update wait and let it sync then reset, set up is less painful.

I am, loaded the leak. Really is nice. If they didn't push any last night it might be another week. Might just be me but seems first wave is usually on weekends. Makes sense Vzw doesn't want a bunch of pissed off business customers on Monday am.

God, I hope the Rezound won't need a factory reset. Takes forever to get the phone back to where I want it.

I keep checking. Nothing yet. With the incredible, after checking for updates with no luck, people had some certain number they called and then restarted the phone to force the update. It worked. I did it. Anything like that for the rezound?

Might as well prepare yourself for a reset, this isn't a minor tweak.

Gruss beat me to it. After a major OTA a factory reset is practically required in my experience.

How to get ready for it? Well google should save the history of apps installed (can't confirm this) and unless you are rooted then you will pretty much lose all app progress (except angry birds, there are back up apps for that)

General phone settings you will need to do over as well. Tons of the menu items and settings will be different with ICS anyway

Hmm didn't have to do that when the Incredible went to gingerbread. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Same with when my Droid X went to Gingerbread (and when my Eris went to Eclair), but this is a pretty big jump, so...we'll see.
