It seems that the software version ends in a .12 instead of .10 like the leak. Does this now mean that phones with the leak will get the OTA?

also correct, phone running .10 will not recieve the OTA.

a leak for .12 was not released to the public, since the differences are minor. i would still wait for an official ruu to appear in footballs filefactory folder FileFactory Folder View - Vigor before running one

Well, here is some potentially not so good news for people who installed the leak and are not S-OFF. Apparently, you will not get the OTA update. Well, at least not right away. Then again, if you installed the leak, you probably aren't too worried about the update.

That's okay with me, because I want to see the changelog first.

I literally just installed the .10 leak. Got sick of waiting. Looks like I might be reinstalling again pending changelog.

What I am saying is that a rep at Verizon said her rezound had an update that is seven megs and gets the device ready for ice cream sandwich. I am currently on the leak build .ten on line one and on stock gingerbread on line two. Both phones have not said an update is, available yet. I think the line one which has the leak may have to wait for an ruu.

People are getting the OTA, it seems for real... screen shots and all can be seen here: ice cream update - Page 3 - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

Now the real waiting game begins...

Default Soak Test?

Looks like the official update is going to come pretty soon. I guess we'll see over the next few days/weeks/months. Friggin' Verizon. No matter what happens, I still say this is all on them. I'm sure they had to change stuff to make their bloatware work or figure out how to release it without someone getting a hold of of the file to share. Seriously, I wish HTC could just build their own and send it out in a .zip file, bypassing Verizon entirely. Maybe once VZW decides to EOL the Rezound, we can crank this baby up to its full potential.

Has anyone here ever received a major OS update BEFORE the official rollout? If so, have you ever seen a booster file get pushed right beforehand? I'm glad I installed the .10 leak early now, because I almost don't trust this 7 MB file. It's like they're sending out scout programs to see who is "worthy" of testing it. That's probably not the case, but whatever.

If my complaint with the FTC does anything at all, maybe I'll find out what the heck their policies are. Doubt it.

Now that is finally being released, let's all please just drop the "me first" attitude and just be thankful it's getting the update at all. Since I installed the leak, I probably won't get the latest, official OTA until the very end. But you won't see me complain about it.

That being said, I would like to sideload 3.14.605.12, so if it becomes an option I'll go for it. Rest assured, I'll share any info I find.

Here is a little bit of serendipity for you:

Did you know...

... that today is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day? The ice cream sandwich is a frozen delight enjoyed the world over, though it goes by many different names. In Australia, it goes by the name Maxibons. In Scotland, it's known as Sliders. In Singapore, ice cream sandwiches are available in red bean, yam and honeydew flavors. And you can't go wrong with the classic vanilla ice cream between chocolate cookie bread!

Its in the thread "Leak Question" in the root subforum if your looking for it. He says the updater scripts look for VALID releases only. Which is way different from what I've experienced in the past where it only looked to see if you where on an older build?
I just want to know why if this .12 has been out there for 2 weeks no one has come up with a changelog? I want to know if I care or not whether I have the official

The update was very minor compared to an already leaked .10, and I didn't want to release every minor RUU that comes our way until it's either confirmed to be the OTA or a newer, more significant RUU comes. If we start releasing every tiny little increment, a man (and users) can go nuts. Too much choice is not always a good thing.

Anyone else seeing the 'official document' at Verizon now too? Unless this has been here for a while, I'd say this update must be legit. Apologies if this has already been here for months.

Do you have any idea where one might see what these minor updates are?

I guess the deciding factor for me would be, does foxfi work with the latest build? I think it's unlikely but if it does great if not I may take more drastic measures.

Weird...

Also, dl'ing the ruu now from one of the mirrors, 600MB!!!! That sounds huge. Isn't the .10 leak about 300 MB? Or am I confusing it with something else?

According to the XDA Forums this is only a minor change to the 3.14.605.10 version as follows:

Features/Enhancements
1. Guided Tour videos updated

Issues Resolved
1) Browser rolled back to original SU2

Edit: These changes have not been confirmed and if I had to guess are not accurate (see two posts down)...

I agree... However, the more I read over there the more confused they seem to be? Is this the change log or just someones modification to the RUU (people are calling BS on this post)? I guess we'll have to wait for the official change log to straighten this out??

Having said that it seems safe to say their are no new radios or major changes in this revision.

Did you get it by checking, or did you get prompted?

Surprised

Uh oh...those links to the update instructions and pdf are now back to the older versions. Did they jump the gun?

What about using this "clear Google Services framework" trick to force updates? Is there any downside to doing that, apart from it possibly not working to force the update?

I just heard the Mr. Softee music outside my building here at work and had to check for the update!

Unfortunately, no dice!

I did some checking on Verizon's site while waiting on my replacement Rezound to show up (since my original one took a sh!t 2 days ago) and found this. In the pictures you can see it says that this update will prepare your phone for the COMING Android 4.0 update....nothing about it actually being the Android 4.0 update.

I'm a lurker, but I just got the smaller update on my stock rezound. I'm in socal, and I checked manually about 100 times before it showed up. Not trolling, I promise.

Edit: large update file is downloading. It has about a 10 min delay and downloads automatically.

I am not on Wi-Fi so it's moving kind of slowly, I got the first 7 mbps at 12:00 only about a quarter of the way thru the dl now. I am going to get off here until it's done so I don't mess anything up
