I wonder why all these cases dont have holes for the 2 mics on the back but have one for the side Mic.
that is if all 3 are additional mics
You make a valid point. Do notice that the HTC TPU case over at Verizon DOES have cutouts for all the mics (on the back, bottom, and upper left side). If I decide to pick up the Rezound over the GN, I'll be buying this case...but in black! ;-)
I looked at some of the other cases at HTCpedia (not all of them) and did notice some do have the cutout hole for the mic on upper left side, but it appears none have cutouts for the mics on the back. EDIT: I take that back, some of them do have cutout holes for all the mics.

Well got my case in the mail today from htcpedia. I'm pretty happy with the look of it. My only small complaint is that I ordered this on the 11th, they shipped it on the 14th, it's time of arrive was supposed to be the 17th, but I didn't get it until today the 21st. A week seems a bit long even for standard shipping but I suppose that's more the post office then them so no worries. Looking at these pics I still find it hilarious that some people call this phone thick or a brick. It looks so small to me, but then again I'm 6'2" and 240lbs so maybe that has something to do with it. Ehhh.
I think the reason they think the phone is a big brick is because they're comparing it to the Razr. As long as the Rezound isn't wrapped in an otterbox then it's definitely not a brick. That's a nice looking case, I just wish it had some front protection on it.

That case in black has the same see-through properties that the red has, it almost gives it a carbon fiber look.
It's comparable to this at HTCpedia, but lacks cutout for mics on the back. Both are said to be OEM by HTC, but I think the back pattern looks better on the one from Verizon. EDIT: The Cruzer series I'm seeing at Amazon have the cutouts, and I like the little Android's pattern on the back. However, I don't like a lot flash and would prefer a black one which I don't see.

All of the Cruzer Lite series have all the cutouts, and they do have a black version in both the Android and Argyle versions. Cool. I think someone further up or in another post did a write up on these.
We wrote an article on how to connect your HTC Rezound to the HDTV using HDMI cable. Take a look here. We show which items you will need in order to do that and also a video showing Rezound's content on the TV.
Just an FYI, I got my adapter today and the Rezound charger will not fit on the charging end of this adapter so make sure you have an extra adapter.
There are some gutted civics and other Japanese cars that are pretty damn quick. For me rice = over exaggerated spoilers (think Super Bee on steroids), those fake-turbo sounding things under the hood, or fake math.
Luckily it's just a standard micro-usb (as opposed to the EXTMicro-usb on the Rezound charger). So any regular old micro-usb charger or cable whould work on it.

That's what I got the other day (the black one). Really like the look of it. The only bad thing is I ordered the Ext. battery so it won't fit anymore. But, if I don't like the feel of the ext. battery, I'll exchange it for a spare standard one and then the case will work.
Original Incredible tv-out cable will not work on the Rezound.
I tried this today. My old tv-out cable for the original Droid Incredible (has the same EXTMicro-usb on one end and 3 RCAs for standard definition a/v) will not output anything to the RCA inputs on my TV. I hoped since it had the same connector as the Rezound's charging cable that it would work, but no go. I may call HTC to see if they know about this and maybe have a solution. But it's not a big deal, just would be nice to have more options, like if I'm staying in a hotel with an older TV.

Did the Droid Incredible Video out work on the Thunderbolt?
And for those wondering, the Thunderbolt battery will work but with the reported errors.
There's a decent Tennis game free in the Amazon app store today. Kind of fun watching the little guy run to where you tap and swing based on your swipe.

Well, here's my put so far:
1) Car mount is nice. It includes plastic inserts so you can use it with or without a case. I don't know how big a case it will let you use, but one of the "normal" size cases is fine. Otterbox Defender I doubt. Otterbox commuter, ?? I hope so. The design shortfall on this one is that it should have a connector for aux in also. It's a pain to have to plug in the aux plug all the time.
2) The design team for the desktop mount clearly have not mastered the same "removable insert technology" as the Car Mount Guys. N00bs. It's going back. There must be a trick to getting the desktop mode to display, too, because it's not doing so on mine. But it doesn't really matter because as much as I want to have a desk mount, I'm not going to uncase the phone all the time to use it.
3) The Verizon kickstand is o.k. if you make sure to pull up a bit on the middle of the thingie as you adjust it... There's just a detent that it you try to force it through, will probably break. But if you apply a little finesse it moves o.k. The case itself isn't very secure or protective- It's basically just a belt-clip untill real cases are available. There's little protection on the corners, none on top or bottom, and if it hit the ground the first hit would pop it off the phone, leaving it unprotected for the bounce. It's main purpose is to mate with the belt clip. But if all you need it for is the belt clip, get one of those snap belt clips, right? So the kick stand is kind of the saving grace of this thing. Thank God I have a corporate discount, or I'd feel kind of ripped off.
4) The feel of the phone with the extended battery is fine, IMO. No one will mistake it for a RAZR, but then, if you really cared, you'd be buying a RAZR already. To me, it just feels solid. The fit of the extended rear isn't *quite* as good, but it's passable.
4A) BY THE WAY, EXTENDED BATTERIES ARE HALF PRICE NOW. Don't know how long this will last, and they'd only sell me one at half price. But for $30, it's a no brainer.
5) I haven't used the Otterbox Defender case on this phone yet, but had one for the DInc2, and it was good on responsiveness and protection. I didn't feel like I lost any feel from the built-in screen protector. But, the case is freakin' huge. I'd prefer a Otterbox Commuter instead, or a Seido combo case if they'd get off their arses...
6) WTF, was Seidio seriously "waiting to see about the demand?" I hope not. This is one of the most anticipated devices of the year, with huge pent up demand from people who love Sense, and are still hanging in with their DInc's. They should have had these cases ready on day 1. As it is, I'll go with either Seidio or the Otterbox Commuter, whichever gets to market first.
7) I'm using the Verizon anti-glare screen protector, and I like it. Nice satin finish, and less friction than the nekkid screen, which I find "catching" an my finger. The satiny screen protector is just begging for a swype keyboard, it's so smooth. ;-)
As for the phone, man, this thing rocks! After my DX took a swim I tried a Dinc2 and a Bionic, and boy am I happy I didn't settle... This thing is creamy 4G dual core sweetness on a stick.

i got the black case from verizon today and it is ok. i really liked my red and black speck case for my incredible from verizon and i hope they make something like that for the rezound. i will absolutely get that case if they make one for the rezound. the silicone case i got today adds a little bit of grip to the back and it doesn't slide on tables much. i like that the volume keys are covered because they are kinda hard to push by themselves IMO. this makes it much easier. the top is exposed and the power button also is exposed. i wish they had covered it up for the same reason why i like the volume keys. all in all, it is a nice case for $20 until one that you want actually comes out. just something to protect it now until i find the perfect case.
BTW, i love this phone...been a week and a day and it's still great. another thing....i got an app called wave launcher(maybe from AFAOTD) and when i go to select an app to set, there is one called mirror. never have seen it anywhere else. i tried it and basically it turns the FFC on and you can adjust the brightness...kinda cool, but idk where else to access it.
No it wouldn't because it has the same EXTMicro-usb connector on it as the Rezound's stock charger cable. The only way for the Thunderbolt and Incredible2 to output video to a TV was using DLNA (needed either a DLNA HDTV, Blu-ray player, PS3, or the Media-Link device that is basically a DLNA device with an hdmi out to go to a tv).
BTW, I tried the DLNA streaming on my blu-ray player (Samsung calls it AllShare) with my Inc2 and it looked the same or worse than my Inc1's tv-out cable (which is standard definition output). Plus I had to download an app Smasung uses for their phones to allow for DLNA streaming to make it work on my HTC.
I really wish DLNA had some standards cause right now each manufacturer seems to do their own thing with it. I'll be getting an MHL adapter for my Rezound. Kinda excited to see what the picture will be like.

I picked up the one advertised in this thread a few pages ago, the only problem (ok 2 problems), my 57" TV is old (2001) and doesn't do HDMI, and my 21" TV that does HDMI, I don't have an HDMI cable for it. I may have access to one over the holiday weekend, although I downloaded some 720p content and watched it on the phone, I have no problem watching it on that little phone since the picture quality looks astounding. Would be nice if the Beats worked with the current video player that I'm using so I can get the ultimate portable theater experience.

I'm kinda lucky where I am (not the middle of nowhere, but you can see it from here) the local mini department store has hdmi cables pretty cheap. Like $6 for a 3' cable up to $20 for a 10' cable. While they don't have gold connectors (silver is actually the best conductor, but also more rare) or an exclusive brand name on them (these are Philips) they do just fine. I've never had any complaints about the picture quality on blu-ray movies.
I'm kinda thinking of trying the mhl adapter from Monoprice. If it works half the cost is fine by me.

I'm curious to see if a portable projector setup would work. I saw one on sale for under $300 which would be cool, just connect it to a laptop or this phone and you've got a portable drive-in theater..."Is that a portable drive-in theater in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"
Just got my stuff from Verizon. Haven't opened the car mount, but I got the screen protector on the first try, and that has never happened! I put my TPU case on their and around the sides and bottom you can't see the edge of the screen protector (case just meets it).
I've got the extended battery charging but I tried out the door. I'm not seeing a signal difference between it and the stock door. What I do notice is that it's got some play at the top of the door (near the power button and headphone jack). It's not a lot, but if you press you can see it move. Maybe it's just this one but not really liking that aspect of it. I've tried pressing but it doesn't snap in if I do that. There is no wiggle in the stock battery door though. But I will say that one handed use is easier with the extended door. The raised area gives you something to hold onto, allowing you to move your hand so your swiping finger reaches further.
I'm going to try out the extended battery & door tomorrow, so we'll see how it works and also what difference it makes. Otherwise I'll return it and get another standard battery, which would also allow me to use my TPU case. But if I'm really wowed by the ext. one I may stick with it.
Edit: After going back and reading, I see RottnJP commented that the fit of the extended door isn't quite as good also, so probably going to be the case with all of them.

I have the extended battery and door on my Rezound and it fit fine into the cradle/dock. Adding the TPC case for the extended battery prevents the phone from using the dock.

If you're talking about the desktop dock, the product page on HTCPedia says that it will work with ext. batteries. For some reason Verizon's product descriptions are very abbreviated, leaving a lot of the features out. Take the car dock for example. HTCPedia's page mentions the extra inserts so you can use it stock, with a standard case, or without a case but with the extended battery. Verizon's page mentions nothing of this, even though it says it right on the package. Wish they would do better in this area.

Yeah the only place to get the TPC case for the external battery is at HTCPedia. The external battery and door fit fine into the dock, it's just the addition of the case.
Oh and I forgot to mention, the Thunderbolt's external charger works on the Rezound batteries since that's actually what I'm using.
If you're talking about the external one from Seidio that's what I've got to and I used it to charge my extended Rezound battery. Luckily when I sold off the accessories for my Thunderbolt, the guy I sold them to didn't have the Seidio external charger. At the time I wished he had so I could recover the cost, but since it works on the Rezound I'm glad I didn't sell it.
So I tried out the extended battery yesterday. I powered on the phone at 8:30am with the phone showing 97%. For most of the day I only did about 3 phone calls and about 5 minutes of web browsing. After doing the calls and web browsing and with a round trip travel time of 3 hours through fair to spotty coverage, at 6:30pm the phone showed 91%. So after that I decided to work it over a little bit. I did about a solid hour of web browsing, about 1.5 hours of calls, & about 20 minutes of Stupid Zombies, it was down to 70%. After listening to mp3s for about 1 hour with the volume about 1 notch below full and Beats enabled it showed 67%. I left it on over night and this morning at 9:30am I turned on the screen and it showed the battery level to be at 65%.
The entire test was done on 3G (4G is around 200 miles away), so for light to moderate use I got 25 hours and used 35%. Even doubling the use and being moderate to heavy would put the use around 70% gone after 25 hours. Something else to consider is this is the first charge on the battery. Normally it takes a few charges to get it up to full capacity. So all in all it's looking pretty good.
There is more weight to the phone with the extended setup on, but it doesn't feel any heavier than the Thunderbolt. Plus, the hump acutally makes it more secure in the hand (an edge to grip) and also aids a bit in using it one handed. What's odd to me is that it's listed as 2750mAh. Putting my stock battery next to it, the ext. is twice as large (same footprint with twice the depth), so I don't understand why the mAh rating would'nt be double the stock at 3240mAh.
The only thing that's not good is the battery door. While I haven't seen any difference in signal reception, the fit of the door bothers me. When you snap on the stock battery door it snaps, somewhat loudly. It's on nice and tight and no wiggle or play. With the extended door, the snap sound is about 1/3 as loud and you don't really feel it snap into place. Although it doesn't seem to want to fall off now, the more it gets used it will probably lose it's holding power. On the top half of the phone the door seems to have some give at the seam and, while not much, is noticable. Also, when holding the phone in portrait mode, with the bottom side of the phone in the web of your hand between your thumb and finger, if you press your other fingers into the side of the hump on the door, there is some give and a bit of creaking. I can't say if they all have this, but mine definitely does. I may go to a store that has these extended batteries and see if others do it as well.
Overall, I am happy with it. If the fit was more like the stock door, I would have no reservations about it at all. I may just be a little too picky, but the door for my Incredible had to be replaced after it loosened up a bit and didn't hold as well. Perhaps I'll either modify a TPU case or get one of the ones for extended batteries from HTCPedia, and that should eliminate the possibility of the door coming off after time. For day to day I will probably use the stock one, and have this for when I know I'm not going to be near a charger for longer periods. That way I can either go slim when battery life isn't a concern or bulky when it is.

It's cool. You nor I can control what the post office does sadly. You guys did a great job I was just trying to say that the delay in receiving it kinda took away some of the fun. I was checking the mail like like a mad man when I normally could care less.

I think I saw him say something about wanting 50% off his next purchase or something about going to a different vendor...
FWIW, when I picked up my Rezound last night and added a line for my GF and got her an Inc2 (the red free one ) I bought the vzw screen protectors for each (a lot better quality than I thought) a silicone case for her's and an otterbox defender case for mine (anybody that knows what hell my DX went through will know why haha!) and the store manager gave us 2 free car chargers as well.
I live close to Delaware so I make all my major purchases there to keep from paying sales tax. I walked out of the store with all this for only $317. Didn't think I did too bad. I would have liked to done the Amazon deal but no way am I going to get trapped into a 2 year contract for 2 phones without having the phones in my hand (and my girlfriend's).

**Never mind. I just found the "official" wireless charging thread.
What have your experiences been with wireless charging? I really like this concept but don't know what exactly I'll need to buy. I just ordered the Rezound after owning the DInc since release. I've always charged it via ac adapter over night and in the car and usually did ok with my battery levels. But since I work from home and if I have the phone sitting on the "pad" when I'm not using it, I'll do really well with battery life. Does this sound reasonable? Will the battery be harmed in any way by sitting on the pad regularly? Thanks!

Awesome! I love to see sites/vendors giving back to the community.
Please every one though be wary to not come off as spammy and be respectful about how/where you post. A thread in HTC section or perhaps in a specific HTC phone section I think if done in a non spamming kinda way would be cool. Keep that in mind also for any who may post this deal in other forums (like AC, DF, etc) to be respectful about it there also, this is about spreading the love
Just an FYI for the few of you who (like me) want to have some sort of protection but hate having a case on the phone (I like my phone to be naked)...
Just for fun, I tried the Seidio Surface holster for my wife's Incredible 2 on for size, and the uncased Rezound fits perfectly in it. It's designed for an Incredible 2 with the Surface case, but the uncased Rezound is really close in size to an Incredible 2 with the Surface case.

We have received our batch of OEM wireless charging doors for HTC Rezound. It is not the same doors that came with your phone, it is even bigger in size. We will be writing an article about it and will compare it to the regular battery door on htcpedia.com in the next few days.

A write up would be great. I am really interested in this feature.
Does it still allow USB charging?
Which wireless pad(s) does it work with? Verizon only, PowerPad, etc?

The pic on Verizon's accessory page makes it look like the same as the extended battery door. A big hump, no branding, and the 2 little holes near the Beats logo are not there. If that is what's going on, I'd rather have an extended battery rather than wireless charging if I've gotta add the bulk.

An update on the extended battery:
Good news: It rocks- It's made this into a 2-day phone. You forget to charge overnight? No big deal. In meetings all day, so you're away from your desk charger? No big deal. When you combine the 2750 battery with the improved power management this phone brings relative to it's kin, this battery gives the phone some real legs. (For a smartphone.)
The flip side- You may not even need it. The Rezound is good enough with it's battery that it makes it all day pretty easily. Mine was getting low a little quicker than I wanted, then I realized it defaults to "performance" mode. Setting that to "normal" lets it get through the day with moderate use. I consider "getting through the day" to still be in yellow, and "not enough juice" if it's getting to "red" before I'm ready to charge it for the night. That's without any special measures to manage app closure, etc.- Just stock "normal" mode power management, and actually delaying the screen power-down a little longer than stock.
So, we'll see whether it becomes the "default" battery for me... I don't mind the size, but I think it's going to depend on how well supported it is with aftermarket cases. I'd like to see Seidio or Otterbox do a case and belt clip for the extended battery, but I'm not sure how likely that is...

It would be interesting to find out who makes ithe door as well as Verizon's charging pad. There is very limited info but it's an intriguing option if it's versatile and still allows USB charging. If I could add a wireless charging back and buy one wireless pad for my office, AND still be able to use my home dock and car mount, it would be ideal.
Another thing for anyone looking at the Otterbox Defender series, the beltclip doubles as a kickstand to view the phone in Landscape mode, granted the only time I used the kickstand on my Thunderbolt was when the phone would get so hot and I wanted more airflow to cool it off.
The only problem I had with these things are (while I'm not some huge hulk of a monster) these things barely fit around my upper arm and the velcro just barely holds so if I were doing any upper arm exercises, I could either cut off my circulation or the velcro would pop off. Maybe I need to start doing more cardio.....
FYI: Based on #3, I almost didn't buy the case but then I couldn't find another that fit the extend battery cover. While the statement about the case coming off at first bounce is most likely correct (I'm definitely not going to try it), it should be in the holster when not in use. I think that when the phone is holstered there is more than enough protection.
You definitely want to be gentle with the kick stand. While it does seem to be sturdy for its small construction, I would recommend being very precise when deploying and stowing the kickstand. I don't see it being used often but when needed it is nice to have.
At the end of the day keep in mind that it's only a $30 case/holster and if it lasts a year that's pretty good. and if it doesn't it's certainly not going to break the bank. I like it and recommend it to those going with the extended battery.
MHL Adapter from monoprice:
Works perfect, however I did notice that when the phone times out(screen black) even when playing music, the adapter stops working. So the screen must stay on. Maybe there is a setting for that.
I can confirm that the picture is 720p to my 52" TV even when playing 1080p content. So It would be better to load native 720p content. Being able to select to hide the onscreen controls is a nice touch.
I did have an issue with play one movie that had a high bit rate @720p. Maybe someone can expand on this. It was only one file so it could be a problem with that file. The movie that played well was the same format, MP4, as the former.
I have to say, this phone has exceeded my expectation thus far. I have only found one issue, the reception if cell calls is not as good as my iPhone 4. I'm working on a fix.
