Thursday I returned my Gnex and ordered the Rezound from amazon for $150 with an estimated delivery date of Dec 30th - Jan 3rd. This morning I get an email that the phone is backorderd for up to a month (new delivery date of Jan 6th - Feb 6th) and they want to cancel my order unless I approve the new delivery date.
So I approved the new delivery date after I realized that if I try to order the phone now it would be $250.
This is killing me, I am now stuck with my OG droid for a couple more weeks.

The same thing happened to me. So frustrating. Though my estimated ship date is Jan 12 - Jan 31. I really want to cancel this order but I just can't suck it up and pay the extra somewhere else.
Current Deal Roundup:
Direct from Vzw - $199 new/upgrade/add-a-line
Amazon - $149 new | $249 upgrade | $219 add-a-line
Wirefly - $99 new | $179 upgrade | $99 add-a-line
LetsTalk - $119 new | $179 upgrade | $179 add-a-line
Seems odd that amazon would be so high relative to the corp pricing. Looks like they haven't changed their price since corp price dropped from 299 to 199. I emailed them, they responded pricing will remain the same for now.
I have made up my mind, looks like the Rezound will be my next phone. I want to purchase online, however every place wants me to purchase a new plan and I want to keep the one I already have with unlimited data. Anyone know if you can get around this so I can save a few extra dollars?
EDIT: Costco is sold out and backordered according to them just today when I went into the store.

Verizon will let you keep your unlimited data. I ordered from Amazon. Their web order form let me keep my current plan, but forced me into choosing a new text plan. I bent over on that, but a call to VZW CS let me keep the now discontinued 250 text/$5 plan. During the call, I confirmed retention of unlimited data.
Relax. Get the phone. It's well worth $150. At full price, I'm not as certain.

I never get the option to keep my current plan on Amazon. Maybe I am not doing something correctly. I am clicking on the Upgrade/Renew radio button, but nothing more that I can see. Where can I get it for $150? $180 on Amazon right now. $170 at Costco, but they don't know when they will have them again.

upgrades are more, 180. Amazon new/add-a-line price was 150 now its 99.
After getting the phone just call vzw customer service they will set it so you keep your current plans...

I got mine for $150 by using the $50 loyalty credit Verizon gives customers every 2 years. They no longer offer this benefit; this is my last credit :-(.
It's back online at Costco $169.99. Better return policy and free shwag but pay full tax, at least here in CA. *edit* Amazon finally on the ball with this one and is now new for $80, upgrade for $160. Can't imagine it going much lower for quite a while, at least too long a wait for those of us with an OG Droid that requires daily resuscitation.

Reason: Amazon price change
I just purchased my Rezound for 49.00 on VZW website, upgrading from my Incredible. Originally upgrade device page said it would cost me 149, 199-50 loyalty discount. By the time I checked out, it charged me 49...listed price as 199 - 150 discount. Had a chat online with a gal that didin't offer an explanation, but said it was a good price. So it will be here tomorrow

Just tried with my OG Droid, no dice. I only had a $30 loyalty discount, so my checkout price was 169.99. Wish it worked for me, I would be all over it.

Are you anywhere near Chicago?
I heard some time back if you upgraded from 3g to a 4g phone you would get a $100.00 off if in that region.

Nope, in Panama city, FL, a non-4g area at this point. I was prepared to pay the 149, and was pleasantly surprised at the end result. That's why I chatted with online Rep to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. Obviously, I didn't ask a whole lot of "why" questions and she didn't offer that there was some hidden promo...just verified what I was seeing was correct before I purchased. I really can't offer an explanation for it though. Fedex says it will be here by 3 today...49 plus 13 for over night is all my card was charged.
Edit* I added the receipt received via email for verification...maybe someone can use it to say WTF Verizon...

I noticed that the Rezound was Free with upgrade on Wirefly this week until this past wednesday. I was gonna pull the trigger earlier this week but then i decided to wait. Now when i decided thats the phone i want they did away with the free and bumped the price up to $179.99. Does anybody know how often they have these deals on wirefly.com? Im cheap so i'll only get a phone if its free.
got it at best buy
priced matched amazon for 79.99
got the $50 giftcard for signing up on the best buy site
they applied the $50 gift card to the 79.99 for the phone.
I Just ordered it from verizon this morning. I was going to order from Amazon due to not having to pay tax but they went up in price and even with taxes this was about $40 cheaper.

I can't wait to get it.
Sweet. Im going to go in store and play with the REZ in person. I have the razr maxx now and its fine, but I do have an upgrade avail and i love playing with custom roms.
I just bought the rezound last week from verizon, any chance they would give me the credit difference? I'm still within my 14 days, i suppose i could take it back, but don't want to go through the unlocking and rooting again.

I doubt it, but then again i dont work for vzw. A phone call is cheap and make net you some money back. Hey give it a shot! But i believe if you return it you may get hit with a restocking fee. I would ask the rep

Yeah i would get hit with the restocking fee, but would still save myself $65
Crazy. The Nexus is still holding at $299 and the Rezound is already a $99 phone. I just can't wrap my mind around why the Nexus is so much more popular than the Rezound. Has to be advertising. hTC's advertising is mediocre, at best.
That $99 is actually good. They want people to notice and buy the Rezound, and they don't have to deal with endless tech support and replacement/RMA problems with other phones!! 1/2

Most likekly samsung is not willing to redux the price on the phone. Its got a 50 dollar promotion right now. When i log in it shows at 249, but I dont think its worth 99.99
Damnit. I paid $170 for it yesterday with an upgrade. Sucks.
If you bought it from Verizon, they should refund you the difference. A lot of people that bought the Rezound for $299 a few weeks after it was released, called Verizon and had them adjust their purchasing price when Verizon bumped the price down to $199.
If you bought it from a 3rd party, you can always refuse delivery of your device.

No, the SIM card is from Verizon. You need it to allow a 4G phone to work on their 3G and 4G network.
Just for grins, I was looking around and not only is there a variation in what you'd pay for the Rezound on contract, but off also. There's a $100+ difference between sites on what you pay for it. Rather strange for a newer phone with high end specs.

I went down there today and they initially told me that it was a web only deal and stores don't match web only deals. I told them that they really didn't want me to return the phone 'cuz no one wins. I end up paying $35 so I'm unhappy and they get a refurbed phone which they don't want. Plus, I'm no longer under contract so I could walk across the street to Sprint at that point as I'm not completely sold on the phone at the moment. They credited my account for the difference.
Well, after two dumb CS people, and one great CS person, i got VZ to put a credit of $200 on our account (for the wife and my phones we bought on the 10th). YaY!

More reason to take that price to Best Buy and price match. I did that when it was 79.99 for an add-a-line on Amazon a few days ago. I even got a $50 BB giftcard for signing a 2 year contract that they put on the price of the phone. Total pre-tax price... 29.99. Plus they have no restocking fees and price match either before or after the sale no problem.
I *hate* BB but you can not argue with that policy they have...
Nope... ordered mine on Tuesday night and tried that. $99 is the discounted price -- they will only let you apply the NE2 if you buy the phone at its regular price $199.

Best Buy wont match online prices... 2 weeks ago I tried to get the Rezound from them at Amazon's price of $160 -- they said nope, go pound sand, we don't match online prices.
Just went through the order process and notice something alarming:
SDM Remote Query Enabled. <--- what the hell is that ?!
vzw chat sesson:
Erin: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
You: Hello Erin
Erin: I'd be happy to assist you.
You: I just went through an upgrade online and notice a feature called SDM remote query enabled. can you explain what this is?
Erin: That's a great question. Is it okay if I take a moment to research that for you?
You: sure
Erin: SDM is a security device manager, that improves the security of your connectivity to a router.
You: Yes but whats the "remote query" mean?
You: Sounds like vzw can connect to my phone without me knowing
Erin: No. Verizon does not do that, but to get a better explanation for this you would need to contact customer service.
Erin: Customer Service would be better suited to assist you with your specific account needs. They can be reached at 1-800-922-0204 Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 12:00AM, Saturday 8:00AM-9:00PM and Sunday 9:00AM-8:00PM. Or you can call *611 from your Verizon Wireless device.
You: Okay thank you.

They matched it for me with no issues. Dunno what to tell you. Try again, maybe a different store? A manager even came over to ok the price match.
The HTC Rezound is the first Beats by Dre smartphone from HTC and will be available on Verizon. It truly is a high-end beast as it boasts a 4.3 inch 720p HD display, a 1.5Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video rec... Read More
