Nope... ordered mine on Tuesday night and tried that. $99 is the discounted price -- they will only let you apply the NE2 if you buy the phone at its regular price $199.
Also: NE2 amounts have dropped to $30.
My NE2 was $50. I got it applied to the $99.99 price, had to call telesales (800-256-4646). They did try selling me $75 worth of accessories though ...

Thanks to Best Buy I'm the proud owner of a new rezound. I just walked in and asked then if they matched Verizon prices. They said as long as they could find the deal online. A quick internet search and 15 minutes later I walked out with a Rezound. If you don't have a NE2 it's worth trying.
I am pretty happy with my deal. I got a Rezound, and my wife got a Droid 3. I talked to one Best Buy, and they shut me down, but the second one worked with me.
I price matched the Droid 3 to Newegg to get it free, and I price matched Verizon for the Rezound to get it for $99. Both numbers were previously registered for the "Phone Freedom" promotion that they had run earlier, so we got 2 x $50 credits (applied to that transaction, not gift cards, for whatever reason). I had a 20% off coupon, which I used for a screen protector, which they applied for me (I had a horrible experience trying to apply my own to my OG Droid). Walked out the door for about $25, the cost of the screen protector and tax.
Local BestBuy would not price match on contract phones. So I decided to go through Verizon Wireless and order the phone, and also take advantage of my new every two credit of $30. Although it took me three calls to them to finally get someone who wanted to help and not transfer me into oblivion.
Bought the Rezound and the extended battery for $105, replacing an OG Droid. Just ordered a Seidio surface case-holster combo although I know it wont fit the ext battery. But I need a Holster or I will loose the phone. I will try to live with the standard battery for now and keep the ext bat. in reserve. I basically only use my phone for company email and phone calls. No texting and major downloading for me. (at least for now)
Is anyone using or recommending insurance? I have been trying to decide if I need it or not, I have lost one phone in the past due to water damage.
Anyone have thoughts on ensqaured?
It's weird how some stores will and some wont. My local Best Buy would not match Verizon Wireless's price. So I just ordered it, was hoping to walk out with it, but going through VZW, I could apply my NE2 Credit. I can wait.
They will credit you the difference if you bought it from Verizon and are within the 14 day window. Sometimes they'll go a few days outside the window as well if you smooth talk.

Picked up the Rezound from VZW online yesterday for $49.99 ($99 Leap Day Price - $50 NE2). Had to work the telesales folks pretty hard, but well worth in the end.
I was able to get my Rezound from BB for $49.99 (this was on Feb 28). They price matched the VZW $99.99 deal plus I had signed up for their $50 credit. VZW would not apply my upgrade discount to the reduced price. I kind of thought that was a little bogus considering it says right on the page that I would get "Discounted Price plus a $30 bonus."
My biggest surprise, and I was wondering if anyone else signed up for it, was the buy back program. I paid $30 for the program which will guarantee they buy back the phone in 2 years for $160. If I sell it back within one year they will give me $400. So, basically, if something comes out by the end of the year that I just can't live without it will be like getting a 50% discount after having to pay full retail price. Seems like a decent deal to me...I have 30 days to change my mind and get my $30 refunded.

The buy back is pretty legit as long as you do not forget you have it lol.

I'm considering getting the Rezound too. I'm eligible for an upgrade with a $30 credit. I did a dummy order on Verizon's website. The Rezound came up $70 for me. I can't pull the trigger right now due to other stuff coming up. I'm keeping my eye on it though.

Why did the sale have to stop JUST before my upgrade date!
Yep, I just saw the sale and was going to post myself. Got some work to do with Customer Service as they system didn't take off my last NewEveryTwo which is supposed to be on top of ANY discounts. But I'll work on it when customer service is back to work tomorrow. Frustrating to have to do but it'll be quite a deal if I can get it sorted. Especially nice since ICS is supposed to be making its appearance soon!
Not sure how these notifications are done, but Verizon is offering the Rezound for $150 off if purchased online, so the upgrade price is only $49. Looks like I'll be getting one now that the price is right.
Went to my local VZW store and they would not match the online price so I ordered my new HTC Rezound online using my HTC Incredible right in front of the salesman.
Free 2nd day FEDEX delivery and $49.99 for this phone is exactly what I've been waiting for to upgrade my 2 year old Inc.
Thanks to TxGoat i am the owner of a new Rezound, I've had my eye on this phone for awhile but i didnt wanna pay the full price. Thanks again for posting that and BTW the sale is good till 4/9. I paid $49.99

I had bought my wife the Rezound last Tuesday for $199 in store. I went there today to try to get them to comp me the $150 but they couldn't, so they told me to call customer care. I called customer care and they couldn't help either, so they told me to return the phone and then buy it online, which I did. Sucks I had to pay a $35 restocking fee, but I'm still up $115 or so.
I love my Rezound, it was worth the $200 I spent, especially since it came with nice earbuds, though they weren't any of the reasons I got the phone.
Even the Retina screen on the iPad 3 sucks compared to the only mobile device I'm used to now, my Rezound! It's not a fair comparison of devices though.

Same here, store would not honor the price. Pretty stupid if you ask me. I just wanted a new phone to play with while watching the NCAA final last night. Oh well, free 2 day delivery.

I talked with customer service last night regarding the Rezound sale. He told me that my discounts are already included in the promotion. That doesn't sound right to me. My discounts ($30 credit for upgrade, $100 credit for going to 4G) should be on top of the $150 off.
I will try with them again. I should be getting it for free.

They applied my last New Every Two ($50 in my case) AFTER I made the purchase online. I decided it was too good to miss and chat rep said they can't help but customer service should be able to so I pulled the trigger at like 3am the night I heard about (about 15 min after I heard!). The next day I called and explained the situation to the TECH SUPPORT division (they seem to be the only group that knows how to handle those situations) and just said that the computer had messed up and didn't apply my last New Every Two and since she already had an order to look at in the system, she said it was no problem and did a manual credit to my account. So, technically, I made $0.01 on my phone and hubby got his for $49.99. Couldn't be happier. For me, it was worth the risk of them not applying the credit as $49 is such a good deal...I wouldn't expect them to use all of both credits when it's down to $49 and you have $130 in credits but I can confirm that your $30 should definitely come off and you might be able to talk them into at least part of the $100 to get it down to free. It's definitely worth a try - just don't talk to customer service...choose the option for tech support as they know a lot more in that division in my experience. Good luck!

Upgraded to the Rezound last last night from my current Incredible as well. Seems to be contagious lol

My wife ordered one online Saturday night for $169. She should receive it tomorrow but customer no-service won't refund the $120 difference. She said she'll ship it right back, no dice. So she called the local store this morning and they said to activate it and they'll do the refund in store if customer no-service still won't. Verizon really pisses me off with this petty garbage.
Yes, Verizon customer service sucks. I questioned the salesman in the corporate store and asked why they won't price match their own website. It's stupid.
Is it easy to port your number from another carrier when buying a phone online?
I went to verizon wireless on my computer from work to order and it wouldn't give me my $50 towards the promotion. Chatted with customer service and said noway...Blah,blah,blah. So I said I wait.
Went to work at my second job and I called my wife and she said just buy it already.
I have no computer access at my second job so I went on the stock internet app on my Incredible to the mobile verizon wireless, the promo came up, I clicked buy and it automatically deducted my NE2.
Got the phone for free!!! and free overnight delivery.
Being delivered today!
I just submitted my order :0
Really wish there was a way to get out of having an extra line open all the time
phone shopping is so rediculous (if you dont pay for full price)
edit: blah I had the unlimited data plan and I was under the impression I had to pick the 4GB plan in order to get a 4G phone.. I already submitted the order so I called *611 and they said i was still on the unlimited plan and that my order hadn't shown up on their system yet.
can you keep the unlimited plan on 4G?
Now I have to call verizon again when i receive my phone and go through all this crap again

We'd better be able to keep it. I have a new $50 Rezound waiting on my doorstep right now When I call to activate it or whatever, I'll have to ask them about this.
I emailed verizon about my order and how I ordered it with the 4GB plan and they said to just call verizon when the phone arrives so they can make sure my unlimited plan doesnt change.
Also phone was shipped today and it says it is expected to be delivered tomorrow before 5! I am excite.

Phone is in my possession and working (it's awesome )
I tried to activate it all through VZW website, but it wanted me to pick a new data/voice/msg plan. I had to call tech support and she confirmed that I was grandfathered into the unlimited plan.

I ordered the phone. I've had issues all week applying my upgrade credit to the $50 promo price. I talked to tech support tonight. He misunderstood my problem. He had the phone at $200 and discounted it down to $50. The discounts included mine ($130) + $20. It explained to him what I wanted and apologized. However, he couldn't give me my upgrade discount in addition to the $50 promo price. I went ahead and got the phone. I should get it by Saturday.
Just picked one up from Verizon Wireless for my wife. The Droid X was getting long in he tooth. She looked at the Rezound yesterday and liked it. She likes my Galaxy Nexus as well but she told me to jump on the Rezound for $50. She likes the Beats headphones too.
Hopefully it gets the ICS update soon.

I'm loving this phone. I'm glad they let you keep unlimited data plans.. I checked my data usage for this month and it was up to 3.4 gb already. That was just on my droid 3!
I really have to invest in some bigger batteries. Went out last night and using 4G lightly I could just see the battery percent drop like a mother.
i can upgrade officially on the 25th of this month. iv'e been told indirect stores will do it a week before so i was thinking about going to a kiosk this week to see if i could get a rezound before they put the $30 upgrade fee into effect. but now i'm wondering if it would be more worth it to wait for the price to go down to possibly $50 again and just pay the upgrade fee.
If you have a HH Gregg nearby, the Rezound is at $149.99, price match at Best Buy so, if you signed up last Jan/Feb for the $50 gift card your at $100 bucks for it. Giving up on the Inc 4g, doesn't sound like , I MUST HAVE THIS type of thing , for me at least. Getting mine in the morning !
still $199 in store so i went and ordered online.
during checkout they had an option for me to keep my unlimited data plan??
i'm excited to finally get this phone!!! i've had a case bought for it since mid-april
The HTC Rezound is the first Beats by Dre smartphone from HTC and will be available on Verizon. It truly is a high-end beast as it boasts a 4.3 inch 720p HD display, a 1.5Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video rec... Read More
