Im hoping that you guys will post up deals on the Rezound. I would like people to be able to look at this thread and see where the cheapest Rezounds are. Im still waiting for, post black friday, deal. So far this is what I have found, with a contract renewal:
local Fry's store yesterday night... $160 (after $500 instant rebate, 2 year contract needed)
I don't know if this applies to everybody, but it applies to me. I have an old Alltel calling plan from 1997 and don't want to give it up, so these 3rd party places that only offer the Verizon Plans I can not go to, because they can not renew my contact without changing my calling plan, because they say they can not see all of those old plans to select them. I've tried.
With my corporate discount and $30 customer loyalty / NE2, I can get $219 from VZW. I got the Dinc fixed, so I've decided to wait until January. My target price is $169. I'd rather buy direct. VZW hasn't screwed me since the GTE Mobilenet days. In fact, they've pretty much kissed my ass for the last 10 years.
For a new contract; amazon is $199 (you have $229 but not sure if that was a renewal or what). I'm back to debating between razr/rezound now that the nexus is looking not so hot.
Doesn't work for me since I'm upgrading a line, but I wanted to offer to help others. Budget and other factors limit my spending to $150 - if I can get under that, I'm buying
^ aw... come on... just go buy it and post unboxing pictures!! Whatever you and i give the phone company a year in subscription/fees, this initial cost delta will be like 10% the total annual cost Man... i'm lucky i'm not an accountant because i won't be able to explain all that line by line. Have fun with your new phone!!
Good to know the prices are coming down. I played with the rezound and nexus today at BJ's, and Im much more attracted to the rezound. The nexus feels really like and cheap.
Can anyone confirm being able to keep their unlimited data plan when going through Wirefly? I may actually be pulling the trigger on this soon if this is the case.

If they dont have the option when purchasing the phone, you can probably call verizon and tell them that you want your unlimited plan back. I took it off to go on a dumb phone, and they said I have 30 days to get back on if I choose to... i chose to.
I think ill keep waiting. I dont really want/need the phone until it gets perma root. My perma root on my incredible is still running strong. But... I am getting excited to get on some LTE.

Confirmed! When we upgraded my wife to the Charge a month back we just called and told them to keep the previous. Also, when you select the phone under "Verizon wireless requires that you maintain..." There is the option of "Keep my existing data feature"
To be safe, I would call that way if there are any problems you can have them pull the recording and voila.
Wow... $149 at wirefly?? How is that even possible? I think I'm finally about to pull the trigger. You just can't beat that savings. I've never ordered from wirefly before. Could someone tell me if I will be satisfied? Sure would be nice to have this phone in time for Christmas so that I can play with it on my time off from work.
Scratch that... didn't notice the wirefly information that it was still $249 if it wasn't the primary line.

That's my fear too. I'm not eligible until 12/27 and I really want to order from Amazon as there is no sales tax and since I'd have to pay the tax on the full retail price otherwise, it's a big savings.
Just ordered mine from Amazon for $149 free shipping no tax. I talked with Verizon and they said it would be no problem to keep my ancient Alltel calling plan (I miss Alltel!) and unlimited data. T minus two days!
Damn...I almost would rather have gone through Amazon, but I got free next day air upgrade from wirefly because they messed up something fierce. Had to pay for 2 day of $8. But No tax from Wirefly either.
Plus the $100 GC if you activate the hotspot feature from Amazon...
Ugh I don't know what to do. I am like the others above and can upgrade on 12/27. Should I just get it from Amazon now? Verizon has it for 299 I think now so even with my loyalty it won't be as cheap as Amazon. But 149 minus my loyalty discount would be crazy awesome if Amazon keeps the price as it is now. What to do?!
Maybe I will send Verizon another e-mail and see if they will bump me up a week early. They said no before but that was like a over a month ago. What is eight days?
Was thinking about doing the same thing. Tried like crazy to get it when it came out and had to wait. Shocked Verizon didn't bend over backwards for me like they always have...hoping to get a great deal for Xmas

I've never bought a cell phone from Amazon. My wife and I currently have the unlimited data plan, unlimited texting 700 Minutes etc. etc. Can we get our phones through Amazon and keep our current plan? We are both eligible for an upgrade (Droid Eris now) want the Rezound.
So my upgrade isn't supposed to happen until 12/27. I checked Amazon Wireless today and it's letting me upgrade! It will be cheaper than Verizon with my $30 NE2 and there's no sales tax! So excited! Merry Christmas to me.
Phone will be here Friday!

Just call Verizon when you activate it and tell them you want to keep your plans.

I love my eris. I still use it as Web phone with Sipdroid
Yes you will be grandfathered into the unlimited plan. I've upgraded twice via Amazon with no issues.
Did you have to call Verizon and request to keep your current plan, or did it automatically roll over? Unless I missed it, I didn't see any information on Amazon indicating that I would have to contact Verizon to request keeping the unlimited data plan.
I finally got Am Wir to work and check my eligibility, but they say I am not eligible. When I talked to VZW CSR yesterday, they said I am indeed eligible because I am a primary account holder and I can upgrade anytime after 1 year.
So that must be a VZW deal that Amazon can't tap into. So I'll wait until Dec 29 and hopefully I can still get the $150 price.

Anyone try calling or going to Verizon with Amazons price and asking them to match it? Amazon is letting me upgrade early, (only a week), wondering if we can get this deal in store...they've been real good to me through the years with deals...maybe I'll give them a shout see what they say.
I tried to persuade them into the deal of all deals but it was a no-go. They were super helpful, gave me the details of the online deal and what the fine print all boiled down to...most of which I already knew from right here. Any problems after a couple weeks and bring it in. I don't expect any, I've had the same original Incredible since it's launch and love it...time for bigger and better. Order is placed, will have it next week. (couldn't find overnight shipping!)
I could no longer resist the $149 Amazon deal. I wanted to wait until after the first of the year, but I can't forsee a better deal than this anytime soon. Especially for an upgrade. I would be pissed if I went to buy in January, and couldn't get this price. Delivery is supposed to be the 28th.
I dont think the amazon deal is going to end... hopefully. I think thats just the price of the phone now, especially since the Nexus came out. I'm gonna hold out until its down to $99. I really dont want it until its rooted anyway, so why spend the extra money when I am still pretty happy with my rooted DINC. Just want some of the 4G speed...

I am pretty much in the same frame of mind as you. Plus, I keep seeing things about this HTC fireball phone and I would be interested in seeing what that is all about first.
The HTC Rezound is the first Beats by Dre smartphone from HTC and will be available on Verizon. It truly is a high-end beast as it boasts a 4.3 inch 720p HD display, a 1.5Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video rec... Read More
