Do you have your clock set to update off the network, or outside of it?
Also, is it possible that you have an app such as juice defender shutting off your data connection while your screen is off, which could possibly block the network from updating it?
I would start simple. Change it to update with the network, and check and uncheck that box. Go ahead and then pull your battery and wait a few minutes and put it back and and boot up the phone. See if the clock has the correct time then.
Otherwise if it does it again, I would say go to Verizon, but they will just want to factory reset your phone if they can't fix it, and you can do that yourself as a last resort.
