Default Battery mprovemnt

This may be old news but in case it may help some others here goes.

Since the ICS update my battery life was terrible and I was having some weird quirks. I tried everything with just minor success. I also noticed that my auto backup was not working properly.

I decided to check and clean up some files when I went to All Apps I noticed that I had 2 copies of several Verizon installed apps on my phone such things like Backup Assistant, Sync Service, Settings, etc. I thought what the hell? So I disabled all duplicated copies, did a restart and waited. Everything started normally. It was late so I shut it down put it on charge then went to bed.

Next morning went to work and forgot about it. By evening I still had 45% battery remaining. As test this weekend I charged it and did not us it much just a few calls (maybe 40 min total), mail downloads, some internet downloads, and listening to music (about an hour). It lasted 47 hours plus with 34% remaining. Also most of the quirks went away.

For those having battery issues especially stand-by issues check if you also have duplicate apps installed and disable them. It may help.

FWIW, YMMV

If you want additional battery life, either download and install the latest 4.03.604,2 RUU or wait for it to possibly go out OTA in the next month...

I get much better life and don't suffer the over heating issues now...

Finally the software is showing the full capabilities of the hardware this phone has.

I have to say as well, that in my experience, uninstalling all the Facebook updates has increased my battery life significantly. I'm back to the same battery life I experienced on GB.

Has anybody else found Facebook to be consuming a lot of battery life, even with the auto refresh turned off?

After cleaning out (disabling) all the installed apps like the doubles and facebook etc my battery is lasting all day. I tried a use test and got 27+ hours with 24% battery remaining. All functions were on including WiFi and Bluetooth except no GPS just Maps. My phone is now back to it old self.
