I bought from a UK e-bayer - cost £35 (cheap but not the lowest) - good feedback. I haven't gone back to them yet - trying to get my head around the issues first.
I chased your threads up - thanks for that - and ended up with:-
Kingston USB Flash Drives. How To Check You Have A Genuine One And Not A Counterfeit – Easy Guide. Kingston Technologies Fighting To Protect Consumers And Itself From Counterfeits. Fake Flash Memory – Internet Watchdog
and a test programme 'H2testw v1.4' to check
if the disk was OK.
a) put the 32gb card into the htc and it recognised the card at circa 31GB
b)did an erase on the htc SD App - I assume this also did a reformat as it didnt give me the option?
c)with the htc connected by USB to my computer the computer recognised the SD disk at 30.75GB
d)I then tried a synchronisation of an I-tunes playlist from computer to SD card - it seemed to copy the first file or so and then dismounted the SD card - all as the previous day,
e)by this time I was coming round to the view that I had a fake card,
f)so I then did a check on the card from my computer using the downloaded programme 'H2testw v1.4'
- this recognised the card as having a total capacity of 31483mb and usable of 31479mb. When I tried a 'write and verify' it ran for a few seconds then dismounted the SD card and came up with the following error message
Error writing file 'E:\1.h2w', offset 0xe00000.
It is still possible to verify the test data written up to this point.
(The device is not ready. Code 21)
Warning: Only 31479 of 31483 MByte tested.
Writing speed: 1.23 MByte/s
a Code 21 message is the dismounting action
So, now I am more inclined to think the SD card could be of 32GB
and the error lies somewhere else
Any ideas please?
