Default Gallery App Broken after ICS update

Hi all, so I updated my mom's Sensation and we're having problems with the stock gallery app after the update. It was working fine at first but after that one time it keeps saying that I have no photos/videos. But when I use a third party app (ex: QuickPic), everything is there. I tried force closing it and rebooting the phone, nothing seems to help. Has this happened to anyone? Thanks XD

It's a rescanning media problem.
After using QuickPic or an app like SDrescan the gallery should show the pics again

But you have to do this after every restart of the phone
