Unhappy Music crackles/skips on notification sound

I have been having issues with the sound crackling when I get a notification, is this something to do with the phone or the software and is there any that will fade the music to a lower level and then come back up like the iPhone?

Many thanks.

My phone after a reboot did this ..

My fix i just pulled the battery for 20 seconds worth trying if you haven't.

It was like a watery echo ????

I dont have notification sounds, I just use vibrations, but I've noticed I'll get a momentary cut-out in the music whenever I get a notification. Not that big an annoyance, as it lets me know I have a notification.
