arrived when I woke up this morning - UK, Orange but unbranded handset.

First impressons were terrible, very buggy with a lot of my regular use apps, then I did a full power down & restart and things started working again

Current impression - slick, I like it, I'm sure I'll find things to grumble about mind. I really don't know why they have the noitification bar icon to tell you when the keyboard is up though, I can see the ****ing keyboard!

Just tried it, pull down the menu and you can toggle to voice input. Nifty, but not something I'll use ever.

Realised this morning that I've got that issue where the alarm clock doesn't play your music. So I overslept.

Oh dear, I use mine as an alarm clock, is it ok with the in built alarm sounds? Been off since I updated so haven't tried the alarms to make sure they work fine.

Got mine couple of days ago. Not good so far. Slick where it works, but buggy. Some apps crash or freeze. Can't answer calls in car via bluetooth any more...and many more! Going to do full factory reset...not pleased at the prospect.

I got my update yesterday. My friend works for HTC and he did something magic to force it to become available. I'm not that keen on some of the design changes, mainly to the menu button, but I can get used to that.

What I can't get used to is a bug that used to happen a few times a week (irritating but manageable) and now happens a few times every MINUTE.

When I'm using the phone, browsing the web or apps, it keeps returning to the home screen. This isn't a Sense crash with the white screen, it's just as if I'd pressed the home button. The screen is unresponsive for a couple of seconds (not normal) then the app can be re-opened and continue from where it was as normal. Sometimes if the phone is already ON the home screen, it then acts as if home was pressed again, and goes to the 7-screen zoomed out view.

I know this isn't the corner of my hand touching the home button all the time because the screen is unresponsive on the homescreen for a couple of seconds which doesn't happen when I press the home button myself, and it's happened when the phone is laying down without being held.

This is making the phone almost impossible to use. I haven't tried a hard reset yet, will be doing that tonight if this persists. Anyone else come across this issue before/after ICS?

-Edit: Update: Factory reset seems to have fixed the problem for now!

Hi everyone, 1st post so be gentle

Was excited to receive update notification today to ICS 4.0.3, SO excited I broke a rule of mine to check stuff out before I go ahead and update [DOH !]. I really don't like the new look, what was once sleek and stylish is now blocky and tacky in my opinion, also found some functionality issues I'm not happy with, like the old ark at the bottom had a nice big 'phone' button in the middle that I really liked.

In fairness it does seem quicker than before, but that was never really an issue for me, as I tend to keep apps etc to a minimum.

The upshot is can someone point me in the direction of a thread/post that will help me to roll back to v 2.3.4, I need pretty basic instructions as I'm by no means an expert in this field, thanks in advance for any help.

P.S sorry for the long 1st post.

P.P.S It's a O2 Sensation xe

Right after some serious google + vodka I have come to the conclusion my only option is this.. HTC Sensation | Unlimited.IO as my hboot number doesn't match with any in the drop down box for the Sensation on revolutionary.io. Which I don't really feel confident doing, is there anyone out there who could help me further with this problem ?

Any help greatly appreciated :]

Finally received the ICS update this afternoon for my HK Sensation XE. Update went well, I had to reboot a few times until it found my photo gallery.
Looks nice!

Default Finally

Hong Kong received the update on 27th April(last friday).

Having used it three days my impressions are...

1) Battery life

I think it's decreased, though I might be playing with it more, but the battery feels like it's falling a lot faster, specially during voice calls. I've gone through a battery cycle and it will hopefully improve.

2) Home screen

Loving it, the new dock and ability to remove home screens is brilliant. But its disappointing to see that when you remove a homescreen, the "helicopter view" simply removes a screen and it seemingly is still set up for 7 home screens, making it look awkward. The carousel also feel funny. Pity to see HTC so behind samsung at this when HTC invented the helicopter view. Samsung reanimates the helicopter view to match how many homescreens you have.

3) Problems.

The wifi signal is clearly wrong, as others have mentioned. I'm not receiving some of my texts, and this led to a highly irate gf which you can imagine was not nice...

Positive view overall, but there clearly are bugs which I hope HTC will sort out soon

Having just bought a brand-spanking-new XE and sending my aging, slow, cumbersome Xperia X10 off to Mazuma (£70 in the bank, thank you very much!), I can honestly say, handset upgrade aside, that I am completely unsure as to what are genuine ICS features and what are Sense features!

Overall though I am a very happy chap, as you can imagine!

Upgrade downloaded and installed within 30 minutes. Nothing went wrong. I'd delayed doing this for some time because of all the horror stories that I'd read on this forum.
Battery life appears much improved.

i acquired an HTC SensationXE last friday, a used (but not abused unit, since the owner is filthy rich)..i was surprised to see it running ICS 4.0.3 (i dunno when had he updated it since he tells me he's selling the phone to buy yet another and upgrade). i was happy that he sold it cheap..my only problem (slight) with this is touch reactiveness..there are times that it responds slow, esp. in texting, and wen i connect the phone to pc and do that usual selection of connection mode/type..i find it hard to navigate the screen when my phone is connected to pc..i supposed that it had to do with the UI, since the Ui is sense 3.6. but htc tells me it's not. but still, all in all, happy to have an XE running on ICS. i hope HTC will sort out a way to update the ui to 4.0 at least.
