Can not download apps from other sites. (HTC SENSE)
Hi guys! I have had problems downloading apps from other sites since I got the new update on my HTC Sensation. It says the installation is blocked. I can not really understand what the problem is. I looked around HTCSense website but the information I found there was for the old version of Android 2.6.
I do not know how I can resolve this. I have tried but can not quite find the problem.
I took som SS of the problem. Would be really grateful if you could help me.

Hi there!
First, please let me state that it is not recommended to download non-market apps because there are a lot of malicious app.
However, if you are sure the non-market app you are trying to download is safe, then try the instructions below.
Since I personally have an HTC EVO, so I am not sure if this would help. However, on my device the setting to allow the download and installation of non-market apps can be found in the Applications menu and is an option called Unknown sources.
Here are the steps....Menu > Settings > Applications > then tap the check-mark on the menu item labeled Unknown sources.
I hope this helps.

ktc1975 said all so just to round up:
If you have updated to ICS on your Sensation, this 'Unknown Sources' check is now to find in Settings - Security.

Thanks for your suggestion, but since I got the new update to the Android 4, I have no longer "Applications" instead I got "Apps". I searched for "Unknown sources" but can not find it on the new update.

Thank you Harry. =)
As you can see in the picture on my thread, I come to the "Security" but I can not find the "Unknown sources" there. The only thing that is there are settings for the display, SIM card and also the reference settings.
- The question is where the heck can I find "Unknown sources"?

Strange !?
I have it right after the section 'Passwords' in section 'Device administration', there is the check for 'Unknown sources'.
Do you have a locked phone from your service provider (O2 etc)? If so they may have removed the "Device administration" screen from the screen on the right in the version they have sent out.

No, my HTC Sensation is not locked. I still don't understand what the problem is. Before I got this update I could download apps from other sites right away, but now it says it's blocked. (?)
Harry and I have the same phones but his mobile has apparently "Unknown sources", but not mine. We have the same android etc as well. I'm so confused.
Well you will know, rather than think, because it would have cost you £400ish up front to buy! And you would have then got a SIM only (either PAYG or contract) separately.
Yeah? But how come "Device administration" is not there? I can't find it on my phone.
To answer that we need to find out if your version of Android & sense is the same as others. As I said before if you got your phone on contract via a service provider (in UK O2, Vodaphone, Orange, TMobile or 3G) then they will probably have taken the "standard" HTC software and changed it.

Yeaaaahh, I solved the problem. *Happy*
I just had to turn off my phone and take off the battery/sd card. Stupid HTC sesne, I called them this morning and the lady I was speaking to didn't even know what the issue was. STUPIDO.
