My phone was working fine yesterday morning, however after a phone call the lock button stopped working. It appears to be jammed somehow, but i can't seem to do anything to change it. The only way to turn on my phone is if someone calls or texts me, or if I take it off the charger or back on it. I was looking for an app that would let me unlock the phone with the volume button but there doesn't seem to be one. Is there anyway to fix the lock button or do i need to get a new phone?

I assume you mean the on/off button at the top? Have you tried removing the back of the phone? That reveals the button underneath. You could try a little spray of oil on it to see if that helps.

By the way what has the title about screenshots got to do with this problem?
