Default Album Art Question

Im not getting something here?

Cant get the album art to register with an mp3 album ive pasted into a folder called "music" on my storage card.

Do I need to put the album image in with the tracks themselves? Do I need to call the image a certain filename? do I need to do something totally different?

Ok this is driving me mad - ive tried the following

1. Normal copy and paste into music folder from my laptop
2. Adding a front cover using windows media player
3. Adding albumart.jpg into the album folder
4. Using media monkey (auto tag from web)

None of these have worked - I still have no album art. There must be someone out there who knows how to fix this? Or I am missing the bleeding obvious!!!!!!!

It seriously cant be this difficult

Hello,

I am using iTunes for my music library. All my song are associated with an album art. I have a mac and I synchronize my music and photos on the Tattoo with "Double Twist". This program also exists for Windows. Perhaps can you try that!

Can i not just copy and paste?

Do I have to sync the music then?

Default ID3v2

Not sure if there's another way of getting the media player to use coverart but it will do if the artwork is embedded in the MP3 file as id3v2 tags.

That's how I got it to work for me anyway, I wrote a Java program to download the cover art from google and embed it in the song files.

Really? Wow! I had no idea you could embed images in ID3v2 tags! Thanks for the info.

Just for the record the Album Art Grabber is the easiest way to do this - couple of pounds well spent - it is seamless!

I use a few things depending on what PC I'm using (I have a few)

MP3tag is shareware you can find from a google search. I like this.

iTunes - Right click on the song or selection of songs, select Get Info, click the Artwork tag and paste the image into the box. (you can actually use iTunes to get the album art, then do the copy and paste).

Windows Media - works in a similar way to iTunes.

There are quite a number of good how-to's on the web, better than I could write giving more detail on the above, do a Google search. But shout if you still need some help.

Ive got to be honest here - i tried windows media plyer and could not get the info to transfer to the tattoo.

As I said earlier I paid for album art grabber and its awesome - use directly on the phone to an album and it pulls all the info down within seconds - cool app

The easiest way to attach an album art to a music file is through Mediamonkey. Get it from MediaMonkey Free Media Jukebox, Music Manager, CD Ripper & Converter . It is free. You can right click on a song and either get the album art from the net or attach a photo from your pc . Works like a charm. Ive been using it for a long time.
