Has anyone been successful getting DLNA on TB setup to playback through PS3? I tried but no dice... went into connected media selected a video that I recorded but the only player found was "My Phone". I also tried the search for media servers function on the PS3 and it did not find the phone... without HDMI and the DLNA not functioning I am not a happy camper right now.
Anyone have luck using the DLNA feature to stream video/pictures to my PS3?
I followed the instructions listed in the Thunderbolt manual which pretty much say:
1. Open the Gallery or Music app.
2. Locate the media that you want to share, and then tap it.
3. While viewing the photo or playing the video or music, press MENU, and then tap Select player.
4. Choose the device on your network where you want to play the media.
5. Once connected to the other device, your phone opens up the Controller screen where you can tap
Still cant get the PS3 to show up as a choice.
I also have WiFi on and have the ps3 setup properly. The ps3 sees my other DLNA devices (Directv DVR and PC)
I tried a bunch of the DLNA products in the Market, but the only ones I could get to work reliably were TwonkyMobile and TwonkyMobile Server. There's a free version of each. You only need TwonkyMobile (it comes with the server). Once you set the media you want to share, you should see it show up as a media server on the PS3. However, on the TB, your PS3 will not show up as a player (this means you can't push playback to the PS3, only pull media from the PS3). I then could browse (from the PS3) all my media on my device and watch videos, play music, and see pics. Yeah!!!!
Yup, was able to pull content from a PC running PS3 Server connected to the WiFi network via DLNA on the TBolt, but no clear idea how to push content from the phone to a PS3 or the computer wirelessly. It's actually relatively simple with the on-board Remote Media app.

i've got three DLNA compliant devices: Tbolt, PS3, and netgear's 3700 new-hotness router.
i've tried searching for both from both, no dice.
i spent the last hour on the phone with Andre from Upstate Nueva Jork appeasing his requests for power cycles and router refreshes. i shut down the entire system and rebooted everything in order. still nothing. now i'm waiting on corporate HQ in washington to call me back.
what's the point of a DLNA cert if the $#!+ don't work?
@eggnogg the idea is to allow devices to communicate WITHOUT third-party apps. the capability is supposed to be inherent.

I have a home networked HD that is DLNA compatible. THe spec sheet says the HD can be accessed by iOS and Android phones. Of course there is a * at the end of the line, but nowhere that explains it. I contacted their tech support (Iomega) and was told I need to set up port forwarding on my router and I could access the HD via the internet.
I guess I was not explaining myself very clearly that my phone was DLNA, but what do you expect from the interns at the first level of support. Hopefully someone can make an app that allows a better search and control of DLNA functionality
One would think that the DLNA site would have resolutions for these sorts of issues...
Anyhoo, HTC USA HQ got back with me, and the guy I talked to said he is working on a solution. He said that he has been able to link TB with other DLNA devices, but not the ps3. Also said he had a conference call set up shortly with some higher-ups for this issue specifically. I told him i'd look into the PS3 side of it.
I'll be sure to post any updates worth posting.

The PS3 only has DMP (Digital Media Player) functionality, therefore it might not be not be able to “receive” using a controller to push the media as the PS3 was not certified for this feature even though it may work with third party software. You must actually play the media directly on the PS3 from a DMS (Digital Media Server). Hope this helps and good luck.
Make sure you are connected to wifi on your phone and ps3 and your ps3's media server connection is on. Then you just have to search for your phone on your ps3.

that's the way it looks. i was really hoping to stream playlists and control from my bolt. alas, it appears i'll have to wait till i get a better TV...
i can also vouch for Twonky
downloaded the app to my phone, ran it,
then saw my videos/photos/music on my 360 & my ps3
it's awesome. doesn't replace the clarity of an HDMI for some people--but if i don't have to buy a cable then i'm happy love the feature
edit: is Twonky only workable on DLNA compatible phones? i couldn't see anywhere on their website stating it had to be a DLNA phone--just a compatible receiver DLNA device
since you must run WiFi on the phone to connect with the same network of the media receiver (ie 360, ps3), this makes me think it's not the case. perhaps i'm mistaken. please correct.
I have the same problem as author, I could not play anything to SP3!
I have tried my favorite AllShare and ArkMC, both program works well, but there were no result.
And in the end, after browsing Internet for solution - I've found that there is no DLNA Rendere in SP3! I was disappointed in it.
To access media - you have to take joystick - and browse through the servers.
I also had the similar problem.

and the result are the following - SP3 doesn't work as a renderer, that is to say - you cannot send anything to SP3!!!
I have read another forum, which member were even writing message to Sony.
So the only way - to take you joystik and brows you servers from SP3!
