Two things I've noticed - if a subject line is included, the message arrives intact; also, when it was working correctly, long messages arrived intact, but came in as mms.
Has anyone seen this before? Is there a way to configure incoming messages as sms or mms?

Have you checked the settings menu? I don't use GO, but I did at one point and IIRC, I think you can control what you're asking about.
