Does anyone know if there is an accessory that mounts the Thunderbolt to a tripod? I'm looking to do some instrumental recording and need a way to keep the phone stationary and stable.

Haven't heard of one. Honestly, if you want to do some serious recording you may want to buy or rent a video camera or at least have a friend help you with making your video. It's worth having someone else there to help if possible because you never see what your recording looks like until after it's done and, if there's a problem in the middle, they can help stop you correct and get it right.

See the problem is, I bought a Canon Vixia HG20 for my purposes, but I realized that I don't actually use it enough to warrant the video camera I bought. :/ I was hoping to use the thunderbolt instead, because the video quality seems pretty nice, and I already use an external microphone.
I don't see why I would need someone else there when it's all standstill video...? I set the camera and mic up beforehand, do a few tests, and when it all looks and sounds good, I roll.

I am also thinking about purchasing a tripod for my TBolt. I will check out all of the links in this thread and read the reviews, but just a reminder: If any of you do order/use a tripod for the TBolt, please post a review here!
The car mount is pretty sturdy. My tripod came with an extra connection thing. I permanently glued it to an old CD case and put it on the tripod it with the car mount stuck to it. Will not come off.
Why is it so hard to find a tripod for the Thunderbolt that is TALL? Most tripods for regular digital cameras extend up to 5' tall. But I can't find any for the T-bolt.
Here's one i hope goes into production.. just backed it on kickstarter. Its a tripod mount that does a lot more and its called Capta. Here is the link to the video.. very cool
Sold on Amazon and elsewhere and should be able to fit it to the Bolt, but
I don't know for sure.
I bought one of those for a camera and I have to warn you that the legs aren't very sturdy and don't stay in place. Of course the camera I was using wasn't exactly light weight so it may work with a phone.
Oh and what exactly prompted this thread revival? Is someone trying to sell something?

I use a great tripod mount that I got on Amazon. Search for i.Trek Super Mount F, and you'll find a whole host of extremely well-made, durable mounts with threaded screw holes for attaching to any standard tripod. You're not limited to a smartphone-specific tripod this way.
Also, it's far more adjustable than any other smartphone mount I've seen. It fits over my Thunderbolt, WITH extended battery, AND the Seidio ACTIVE dual-layer case! Most mounts can barely fit over a thinner smartphone without its case.
Now, if you could please tell me, which external microphone do you use with your HTC Thunderbolt?? I have been looking all over the forums for a Thunderbolt-compatible external mic! Even mics that work with other Android phones don't seem to want to work with the Thunderbolt! I can't tell whether it's a hardware issue, software issue, or what! Would you mind describing your setup (what mic, what kind of app, etc.)?
