Default Thunderbolt issues (minor)

I have recently purchased a gently used thunderbolt and there seemed to be absolutely nothing wrong with it. I used it for a few weeks and its fast, slick, and 4g is great, but I discovered a few minor bugs along the way.. First of all, the battery door squeaks like crazy, secondly, the volume button seems to be squeaking and a little sticky, and around the left side of the screen, it clicks whenever its touched along with the right side that just feels loose.. I am somewhat of a perfectionist and these drive me crazy, so are there remedies or are they common problems with the HTC thunderbolt? Thanks!

I had a similar issue with the screen when I got my first bolt in April and took it back and they replaced it. Though since you purchased a used one, they won't replace it. There may be a way to take the TB apart, but I wouldn't advise trying unless there's a good walkthrough for it.

Also, the battery cover squeeking is something I've learned to deal with. It does it with my stock battery and cover, along with my extended battery cover. As for the volume rocker, I don't know if there's a way to clean that out without taking the phone apart. Sorry I couldn't be any help.

I had a similar issue with my stock battery cover. The power button and volume button also squeaked, very annoying/disappointing. I put the extended battery and cover on and no squeaking. I swapped back to stock, and no squeaking. I noticed the cover could be installed slightly misaligned, especially being snapped on from the top down, so I always try to go from the center up.

The HTC Thunderbolt is the first ever 4G phone on Verizon Wireless. The name is no surprise... you can expect the Thunderbolt to have lightning speeds as the carrier ushers in a new era of mobile power. While 4G speeds on a Verizon Android Phone ... Read More
