I think it will be Sense 4.0 because that appears to be the version that has been made for ICS; however, someone posted on another forum that an HTC rep said it would be 3.5. I don't know if that's true but there may be hardware limitations since the TBolt is a single-core phone. I guess we'll see.
Edit: I did not realize that HTC has a Google+ page as well (I no longer use Facebook). They also posted the same news there and, now that I have them in a circle, I'll follow their news. I also posted the question about Sense 4.0 on the TBolt. We'll see if they answer.

That's like saying Samsung is done with touch wiz, or Motorola is done with blur. They have to put their own personal touches on Google's os to make themselves stand out. Personally I kinda like sense. Its better than blur. My wife had a phone with blur and she cussed it every hour on the hour lol.
It wil be nice to have ics on the bolt. I have ran a beta rom version of the nexus ics and the bolt had no problems in running it. I thought it ran better than any gb rom I have ever used.

Every time I hear about ICS coming to the TB I have flashbacks to the Eris getting Eclair. It was a disaster and messed up my Eris. I think I'll wait for a stable custom ICS that i know is made for the TB.
By the time htc actually releases ics for tbolt how many of us will still have one? How much more advanced will newer phones be?
By the time the ril is available do you think anyone will still be developing for tbolt? By that time updates for tbolt will be no more meaningful than updates for og droid. I actually got an update on my wifi only OG Droid a couple of months ago. I couldn't believe it. How pointless.

There will always be developers, because many are unavailable to upgrade, or just simply cannot afford to do so by paying full price for a phone. If there is anything I have learned about android since I have been with it from the Incredible is that even after EOL happens people still develop for these phones because many developers do this for fun and use their phones every day just like you and I. Obviously the bigger names will move on, but even so CM9 is supposed to support the TB, and MIUI already does. Those are some pretty big names, and when one developer moves on, there is always another one to take the spot that may be less known, but equally as good.

The HTC Thunderbolt is the first ever 4G phone on Verizon Wireless. The name is no surprise... you can expect the Thunderbolt to have lightning speeds as the carrier ushers in a new era of mobile power.
