Default Wifi hot spot , able to unlock ?

Would it be possible to some how to unlock the wifi hot spot on my TB?I would think if rooting would do it but not sure. I think it dumb we have to an extra 30 bucks a month to use but that is HTC for yea. Any ideas would be great ?

I also though about hooking up a router to my laptop and then using the router to boost out my signal to other devices .Would that work ?

Root will allow you to at least download a different hotspot app to use.

Either way, what you are describing is typically a root only feature. You can USB tether without root but that's about it.

Wait, if I connected a USB cable from my Thunderbolt to say a tablet, it could use my phones internet connection, no wifi/hotspot/whatever necessary?

I gave up on this topic and project. Maybe on my next phone I will root ( s4 perhaps) I just could never figure out the rooting process for this phone.
