Default Micro SD big problem

Hi there,
i got an unlocked Wildfire handset about a month ago. everything was fine, i was enjoying very much the phone when suddenly one day all my pictures and music disappeared. My phone showed me a message about some kind of problem with the micro sd card that may be solved accepting to reset the sd card. so i did. Then i got my sd card empty for about a week (no time to fill it up with music or anything those days...) and then, 5 day ago i got a little SD card icon with a little question mark (?) in the notifications bar. when i check it says: "REMOVED SD CARD - SD Card Removed. Insert a new one." - But the card is actually there!!!

I tried turning off and on the phone and nothing, the same removed-card message. So what i did, in order to rule out the possible damage of my sd card, was to insert a friend's sd card from his fully working htc desire and actually putting mine on his... the result: my sd card worked perfectly on the Desire but my friend's sd card got the same removed-card message on my wildfire.
What can i do? could this problem be hardware related? is my beloved phone broken already??? has any one have the same problem??
thanks in advance!

I'd say that if the two cards work OK in your friends phone, but neither works in your phone, then your phone has a problem with it's SD port.

Yep, that seems to be the problem... which means that the bloody phone sucks! Hope it was just this device in particular instead of the whole range of wildfires ...

I still have some hope and I'm going for the infamous "HARD RESET" just to see what happen...I'll let you know...

Hi

I have the same problem on my Wildfire, None of the SD cards work. I tried formatting the SD card on my PC, and it still doesn't work.

The hardware of the HTC Wildfire isn't exactly 'jaw dropping,' but still great for an 'entry-level' handset for folks on a budget. Specs include a 5 MP camera with geo-tagging & auto-focus, 3.2" inch capacitive that sup... Read More
