Need help with unlocked phone connecting to 3G

I recently purchased an unlocked HTC Wildfire. My carrier is T-Mobile. The phone will not connect to 3G. Can anyone help? Also it did not come the market app. Is there a way I can get that on my phone?

Where in the world are you located? Are you talking about T-Mobile USA or are you in Europe?

i actually need help with this problem too. i bought a tmoblie unlock mytouch 3g and it has gone to the 3G network, only Edge and sometimes theres a G at the top...im guessing GSRM. i live in houston texas and my old phone got 3G just fine.
i have ATT btw
