Question 2 puzzling questions

I have 2 things I am not sure about on my Wildfire
Firstly my contacts photos. I have saved some of them to a folder on my phone Others I have picked a photo on my phone and cropped it on the phone and saved as contact icon
My question is - do I have to keep all these photos on my phone, or can I delete them? Will they still be saved as each contacts picture?

My second question is how do I delete a pdf I have downloaded when I cant find it?
Other downloads are in the Download folder and I access it through androxplorer and delete no prob
This one shows in adobe as on the sd card But cannot find it anywhere
Tried clicking on the open pdf but cant delete.
Any ideas please?
