Hello and welcome to the forums bestiarii - thanks for joining!

I don't have your phone, but have had a quick look for you and found the following:

The only way to turn off the shutter sound with your Huawei Ascend 2, is to download a 3rd party software called Peek-A-Boo. It is free to use and works
It is worth noting that, in some parts of the world, it is a legal requirement that there is a shutter sound on the camera

Cover the speaker vents with your finger. This almost silences it completely, especially if you have one of those rubbery protective things installed over the hard white plastic backing.

Oh by the way, I'm not some totally creepy person for knowing that - I find myself using this technique a lot when turning the phone on in public - the Muve bootsound plays at FULL VOLUME even if the sound is otherwise totally off, and I generally prefer to shut the thing all the way off before certain events like tests or before traveling to certain places, etc.
