Default Considering switch from iPhone 5

I am thinking about getting an ascend d xl instead of my iPhone 5. Would you recommend this. What flashable roms are good? Is it rootable?

This phone is obselete and it's still barely available since launching. Hasn't received any real attention from modders, not even a section on XDA. Huawei D2 with a 5 inch 1080p screen is releasing now in China, that will be the better bet (3000mah battery and 13mpx camera also, and 32GB onboard instead of the measly 8 the D1 has).
