Default Cannot set music clip as ringtone???

On my new Cricket Ascent android I cannot figure out how to set a music clip as a ringtone. By using MYXER.COM You can cut short snippits out of a song and send it to my phone. That's no problem. For the live of me I cannot figure out how to make it a ringtone. I am a realtor and want to use OUR HOUSE by Crosby Nash & Young as my main ringtone. Would also be helpful to have other clips for specific people calling. Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I cannot use this app for text msgs. i have huawei ascend (cricket service) and cant find any way to set songs as a text ringtone. help anyone? please! i only get the option to use factory preset ringtones for text msgs if i set it thru messaging settings. if i go to the file manager & try to set it i can only set songs as the default ringtone or contacts. the ringdroid app only gives me the option to save as ringtone, alarm, music, notifications. if i save as any of them (i've tried them all) it dont work.
any suggestions?

Ok go to file managing then press the sd card icon at the top, now look for the mixzing folder or the folder in which you have your music. Once you find the song you want as your ringtone long press it and there should be a "set as ringtone" option, press that one and you should now have it as your ringtonerington

If you create folders on your sdcard called 'music' 'notifications' 'alarms' and 'ringtones', any audio file put in there will become an option in the respective notification settings.

Which is handy, because it stops your notifications/alarms turning up in the music player, for example.

Question

[QUOTE=Xyro;2231735]If you create folders on your sdcard called 'music' 'notifications' 'alarms' and 'ringtones', any audio file put in there will become an option in the respective notification settings. [QUOTE]

I tried this but it didn't work because when i set a sound for texts i only get to pick from 2 choices: 1) android ringtones and 2)zedge ringtones. zedge is an app i downloaded that has ringtones, wallpapers, etc but the variety sucks. i cant find another app that will work.
Android ringtones are the basic factory preset tones. I cant find where the preset android ringtones are saved or i would try to move a file there. I went thru everything.

any other suggestions? I just need help setting the text msg tone; i got all the other ringtones figured out.

thanks for the help!

ok, i figured out something that will work. :-)

i downloaded the app "tone picker" and when i go to my text msg settings and choose select ringtone it shows tone picker as a choice to choose from. then the program gives me the option to choose from my music or any other ringtone app.

works for me... thanks for the other ideas everyone, maybe this post can even help others in the future...
