Angry need help with huawei ascend m860

i want to use a picture from the gallery as a wallpaper. I did get a picture on there but it is so zoomed in that it looks terrible. I want it to look like a normal photo, the way it looks in my photo gallery. This has not been a simple process-it has taken days, and still no luck; can someone take me step by step on how to set the wallpaper from the gallery? Thanks!

I think you need to use 'picture frame' or 'my photo frame' which are in the widget menu. 'Go Launcer Ex' has these options. Good luck.

the little yellow box that appears when you choose to use a wall paper can be made bigger by holding a side and dragging it. that may help.

no, these just display a pic in a widget. like hanging it on your wall.

It sounds like you are still using the stock launcher (with the 9 home screens). That causes the zoomed-in view. As suggested above, just get Go launcher ex and you'll be good to go.

Here you go,as described in the phone's settings section(Settings>About Phone>Device Info>Browser Info)

Mozilla/5.0(Linux;U;Android 2.1 - update 1;en-us;M860 Build/ERE 27) Apple Web Kit/530.17(KHTML,Like Gecko) Version/ 4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17

As Playful God stated,I don't think this is available in the MARKET.

I deleted the stock web browser and was wandering where to re-download it from, because some1 suggested that i might be able to download new roms on it. As every other browser I've tried does not work for downloading those Rom files.

Just a quicky.....I had my SD card partitioned before I flashed to CM6, I believe it stayed that way and the Ext was just formatted. My question is, is it necessary to keep that ext. to utilize cm6's app moving function....or could I remove it?

The partition was needed for icarus because it moved the apps differently then the froyo version does. There is a guide around here ,or on prepaidandroids, some where on how to remove the partition.

I have a question about a couple of apps that constantly show up in the running applications for no apparent reason. Namely Firmware Update and GTalkService. Is it right that Firmware Update starts itself and runs constantly when there is no Update happening? Is it just listening and needs to be ready for a update whenever that may be?

GTalkService does basically the same thing even though I never use the Talk App. Whats up with that? Thanks,

Ok, so I have the CM7 rom..

And I wanted, to display the caller id in my recent calls list, instead of just the phone number?

Any insight is greatly appreciated..

Allright, my friend, as far as I know, these are system apps, some will show as running and some may not. You can chose to close these particular ones if you like, but they'll most likely keep running in the background anyhow. As many will tell you, I wouldn't go with any Task killing apps.....Just a suggestion if you don't mind changing launchers, GOlauncher EX has a built in task manager that shows you everything that's running and allows you to close it from within your app drawer. Otherwise someone else may have a better selection for an app you can use.

You can root your phone with z4root, it's an easy process. Takes about 7 minutes. But it can void your warranty, but since the phone is so cheap, if it breaks i'll just buy a new one.
With that said, back to what root is. If you have a rooted phone you can do more things with it than you can with stock. And you can make it x999,999 times faster with different types of apps.
Stock isn't bad, but if you choose to root it your doing yourself a favor.

The Huawei Ascend is an exotic flowering plant grown exclusively in China. It is typically ingested by smoking. It can have various effects depending on the user: euphoria, anger, confusion, and the feeling of moving in slow motion due to lag are just a few of the symptoms of Huawei intoxication. A gateway drug that can lead to harder things like ROM addiction and Android withdrawal.

Default Dee-de-dee:my turn @ stupid question {seriously}

This question is actually an A/F-PHANDROID question, however,I would like to take this opportunity to let someone point out the obvious to me & have a good laugh @ my expense. It's the least I could do for all the help I've received from some the nicest & coolest people I'll ever come across.
So.....here it is:

When I attempt to alter my profile on my USER CP by updating the devices/apps of note used, when I select the edit button, enter the changes,&hit 'save',nothing happens,& my profile information stays the same.

I had no problems changing my avatar, but, cannot change the data I just described.
Someone PLEASE point out the obvious & tell me what I'm doing wrong.THANK YOU!

I think I figured out the problem. It appears there is a limit (# of characters) that can be entered & cannot add more info. Thanks for the help,NUTTMEG & EXTREEMGREEN!

I will now retreat to the DEE-DE-DEE CORNER of the FORUM CLASSROOM,humbly wearing my DUNCE CAP!

Okayy, so I installed icarus and It runs great but somehow I messed up the flash and I can't sign into gmail (meaning no market, calender) is there something I can do to fix this in cwm? Or do I need to reflash? And if I need to reflash do I start back from the very beggining?
And can I just flash to icarus and start from fresh downloading apps, or is titu mandatory?
Oh and I downloaded titu from 4shared, so I had to put my sd card back in before I could restore my apps..
Sorry for the compete unawareness

Today, I got the Ascend account running through Cricket. I am waiting for the Port team to port my old T Mobile phone number to my new Ascend.

After that I will have to reboot the phone. While I wait, I want to find out any advice on wifi. This is a stock phone, it has zero 3rd party downloads. Which wifi do I use?

The phone has a list to choose from:
MOTOROLA
linksys
FETAUSEATER
s0m3onE
RASCAL
etc...

Thanks for any advice!
