Default problem with app google latitude

hello, i am very new to the android huawei m860. i have read over these forums and have found excellent help with most issues i have had being a new user. Although, i am having issues with google latitude app. I dont want in running on my home screen. i can not figure a way out to get it off there, if anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated
