Well, first we need to know what phone you have. Second, if you can't get the update through OTA, you will need to root to do it. and before you bother rooting, you need to find out if 2.2.2 even exists as a rom for your phone.

Metropcs, Huawei m835, stock rom is 2.2.2

All we have is a nandroid backup, no flashable rom.

I assume you have tried an OTA update? if that's not working, maybe Huawei's website?

There is no update for the phone, it comes with 2.2, no update/downgrade. *Outside of Stock of course*

Ok. I'm confused. Why would stevenyoung be looking for a rom that is already stock on his phone? Unless he's looking for a devoted version?

Nah, I think he may not know that what he has really is 2.2.2 Frozen Yogurt.

Which would only make me think he messed with something that he hasn't told us *or can't, cause of the rules* and thinks that re flashing the OS will fix. Just a speculation.

Im new to rooting and I messed up my phone : I rooted it and everything was fine until I removed an app called Launcher 2.2.2 from my Huawei M358. I noticed the End button wasn't working, so I shut off my phone and turned it back on to see if it was just a glitch, and my phone stayed on the Metro PCS screen. I searched for a solution and I went into recovery mode and tried everything. I finally gave it the factory reset and rebooted it. And finally that leaves me to the situation I am at now. It turns on now, but after I take it off of the lock screen, it is black and has no function whatsoever, except receiving incoming calls. I am new at messing with phones, but if you guys know how to reset it back to normal, tell me, I can pretty much do whatever if you explain it somewhat thoroughly, thanks(:

Here's what you need to do.
On your computer, go to play.Google.com
Find a launcher, and download it, making sure that it goes to your phone, when the pop up window cones up.
Any launcher is fine (I recommend go launcher).
After it downloads and installs (if your still have your status bar, which you should, you'll see the download/install progress.), hit 'home' on your phone, and it should revert to that launcher
