Default GPS Not working in my Ideos

I bought it yesterday, and checked it.
Almost all provided functions work correctly, but the GPS is not working.

When I am opening GPS, the screen says, "Waiting for Location"....
I can't figure out what the hell is this?

Is there any need of internet connection in mobile as well for accessing GPS, because currently i don't have internet activated on my mobile phone sim card.

This phone uses A-GPS. ie Augmented GPS which gets location data from the cellular network so that it can locate faster. Without cell connection it will rely solely on GPS for which you need to be outside under clear sky and wait for 3 to 8 mins for the device to locate itself from GPS satellites' data. Device should be held still for this time so it can catch the GPS signals from a minimum of 3 satellites.

Hello all,

I bought an IDEOS U8150 a couple of weeks ago. The GPS was working fine until a few days ago and now I no longer see the GPS symbol when checking in to things like Facebook Places and when using Google Maps etc.

The 'Use GPS satellites' option is ticked in 'location & security settings' but despite using a number of applications that should activate the GPS, the symbol doesn't show.

Can anyone help out here please?

Just checking to see if you've tried turning on the power widget and making sure the GPS is on. Otherwise I've never seen mine turn off.
