Want to Upgrade my Huwaie U8150 from Android 2.2 to 2.3

Hello,
I have a Huwaie U8150 and I want to upgrade my Android 2.2 to Android 2.3. I searched a few topics here and found one with information about rooting my Phone and all that stuff, but I didn't find any exact tutorial or page that could let me know how can I exactly do that?

Plus, if it requires rooting, is there any cons of rooting? is this upgrade the authentic way or just a customized way to do so?

thank u for these links.. but the ones for downloading the firmware/ stock rom are broken.. people have been asking me where to get the stock roms for different countries.. these links used to work but they no longer work..
