Dammit . i just deleted some of the apps on the list . and my phone isnt working . i try to text and it closes, i try to go into my call list and it closes, and my gallery closes too . !! wtaahell. can anyone help me with this ?
Is it safe to remove the default ring tones n notifications that came with the phone a couple other apps I was wondering about are gallery, camera, live wallpapers, news & weather, Google search, Google +, and the Google messenger
Screw eco boost - you can do all those things yourself. I removed it and everything works fine. More RAM available now. Don't try to remove Google+ it is tied into the Gallery and google services framework. It will break sync and you will have to mess around with things a bit to get them back to nomal.
Also under applications I disabled Email, Exchange Services and Google Search.

You can ditch google+
All you have to do to fix sync is delete your google account then put it back in the phone.
I took plus out cause i never use it for anything.
Once again, this forum rules and you guys have been a great help with the Hydro.
I'm big on Google (Gmail, YouTube, Google+, Maps, and Navigation) and don't wish to lose any of that. Just to be clear, removing Google Books and Google Magazines won't interfere with my other Google apps? I'd like to trim off some of the bloatware as I don't ever see myself using Books/Movies/Mags, but would hate to lose the other stuff I frequently use. Thanks again for all your help!

you can ditch books movies mags and music
don't ditch the core google apps though play store etc.
personally I freeze the apps, if something goes haywire, poof, back and fixed, if all goes fine for a while, then I can decide to permanently remove.
There is NO recovery script, so test in the most undestructive way possible first.
Check the apps in this thread to see whats already been tested and verified.
These phones don't have very much non ICS bloatware on them
so there is not a ton to get rid of.

Thanks, Wiesshund. Basically, I've already uninstalled the Google apps I didn't want and have seen no negative side effects, so I'm kinda waiting it out before I delete. It's not like I'm hurting for space, and you are correct in that there is not a lot of bloatware on this phone. All is good and thanks again!

Another reason i tend to leave them frozen (doesnt take up that much space) is some updates have a cow if they cant find the stock apps.
Easy to unfreeze, let update apply, then refreeze.
Yea i know, i could back them up before deleting i'm just too lazy.

i have removed many of the google apps, the only ones i left on was the play store and gmail and phone seems to run fine. removed eco, stock browser, and many of the cricKet bloatware thats comes with this phone. battery life has improved and phone seems to run smoother and faster without any over-clocking needed. i got this phone because they say its waterproof and because of my job my phone gets wet all the time and so far it has not damaged anything. i have a case a and a screen protector as well. Thank you all for sharing the info and ill keep reading this forum because of the help.

If ya open the battery door, make sure the o-ring remains in place, and make sure to push it back down all the way around.
Big cause of complaints that the phone flooded, you can lock the battery door with out it sealed.

Just curious, Poomah-- what did you replace the stock browser with? I'd like to do the same for faster browsing and have heard good things about Chrome (which I love for PC) and Dolphin.
