FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK, ITS NOT MY FAULT NOR ANY DEVS FAULT IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE.

ROMs

Flashing ROMs: flashing roms is easier than it sounds. DO THIS EVERYTIME YOU FLASH A NEW ROM
1.download the rom from the link provided
2.connect your phone to computer under disk drive mode
3.put the new rom file on the root (under no category/its own file) of your SD card
4.boot into recovery (via ROM manager or holding volume down and power when the device is off, then selecting recovery) and wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache
5.click "flash zip from SD" and choose the ROM.
6.reboot into your new rom

It should be noted that the kingdom ROM has a note that it should not be flashed until fixed

... that was brave. I was ready to try it out and then I noticed the warning in small letters below, I wonder what the issue was.

On another note has anyone tried the Incredibly Debloated w/ OC kernel? I am very interested in running this on my friends phone but I am nervous about the 1---> 1.65 ghz jump, can anyone confirm if it is stable?

There is a new JDkernal out right now. 245mhz min/1500mhz max. I have flashed in on CM7 and it is sweet. It has some pretty cool governors that give me awesome battery life. Just thought I'd share my findings.

I can't get the phone to get S-Off... I ran the AlpharevX.exe and it brings up the dos screen and just sits and says waiting for device. Am I missing something?

do you have all the drivers installed? make sure if you installed drivers by installing htc sync, to uninstall htc sync. the drivers will stay but the program will just be removed.

New & replacement Dinc2 phones are now coming "already updated" to Gingerbread 2.3.3

Does that mean no root and none of these instructions will work ???

Try the jdkernal, the link is in this thread. 250mhz/1.5ghz. Plus it has some governors that really help.

Do I need to wipe data and cache before unzipping it? Or just download and unzip. Also it does give me the abillity to set my CPU speed? So I could speed it up or slow it down? Thanks for the info.

flash it like a ROM, but i dont think you need to wipe data. put it on the root of your SD and flash in a recovery. and yes you can turn it down for battery life or turn it up for speed

Isn't that kernal for CM7? Would it work on the MIUI Rom?

None... I'm waiting for a full Sense 3.0 ROM that's stable and not missing any features to appear before I root.

SnappySlapMod is just a port of the Lockscreen & Quicksettings features from Sense 3.0 on top of Sense 2.1 (according to the XDA guys), it's not really Sense 3.0. Incredible S based is unclear if it's really 3.0.

Kingdom Rewind is definitely "real" Sense 3.0, but it's still too unstable and incomplete right now (random FC, broken MMS, camera, weather, etc...) to use practically. The dev doesn't have an actual Dinc2 yet, so he's doing what he can with feedback from people who've flashed the alpha ROM.

There's also rumors that the Virtuous Unity IncS ROM will be coming over to our Dinc2 at some point.

My bet is that either Kingdom or Unity will be the best Sense 3.0 ROMs - when they actually come out as stable releases.

the Kingdom dev is saying he has a stable release coming tonight or tomorrow, appearently he only has to get soft key lights and a few phone FC's fixed and then it'll be out. but thanks for the info on the other "3.0" ROMs

Set the cpu and the governor by using the Terminal Emulator. Or use the setcpu app for a very easy way to set the cpu and governor

You may have changed the speed too high or too low, too low will add a lot of lag and sometimes freeze. too high and it will be great until under a lot of stress (i.e. videos, angry birds, ect...) and it will freeze. what did you set as your speed

I left the settings stock and put smartass on. It froze after I hung up a call and in setcpu. I'm not sure if its cause smartass set it to low or not. I'm happy with it stock but the kernel fixed sound problems

i dont think its smartass, i use that governor and in my opinion, thats the best one... its still an early version, its working seamlessly on CM7 so keep checking back for new versions or try reflashing after wiping your cache again

I believe the MIUI stock kernal has the Smartass governor. I would also not reccomend using a CM7 rom kernal on anything but the CM7 Rom.

Default rooted inc2

Hey. Thanks for posting this thread. It's been really helpful. This is my first droid, first root, first everything, and I put it through without a hitch. Thanks to your video. Learned A LOT, too. Now to see what this thing is really capable of...

This is some of the best news I've heard in a while. I have the DInc2 on order from Amazon (hi, it cost a PENNY with my upgrade!) but I'm paranoid it's going to show up with 2.3 pre-installed and I'll be stuck with a locked phone. I'm so used to my unlocked Eris that I'm not sure I can go back to a phone that I don't have complete control over.

I can't find any short cut to make a phone call... everything else is amazing. Finally got sick of looking and restored back to MIUI. Would like to use CM7 but it is first and for most a phone call making device. What am I missing.?

CM7 is a great ROM! just so noone makes the same IDTenT error as I did, you have to wipe data and all cashe. I wasn't wiping my data and it was messing it up.

And of course the phone shows up pre-loaded with 2.3. I'm extremely disappointed but am still surprisingly happy with the phone. Chucking Sense for LauncherPro has helped make the phone look a lot like the retired Eris so maybe the wait for 2.3 root won't be as painful now.

Incredibly Debloated and incredibly debloated OC will make your phone freeze at the white HTC loading screen, I have seen it happen more than once to everyone who has tried it, so juts a fair warning don't download it.
