Question What up with this? hTC super tool???

HTC Super Tool Makes Easy Work of Unlocking a Range of Devices

I don't know much about rooting and such, so
I bring it to y'all.
I read a little bit about this & was not able to find out weather it's compatible with Dinc2 or not, but nevertheless looks like it has some interesting stuff going on with it.
Well, my real question is could this be used to easily root hTC Droid incredible 2 without
Having to go through downgrading and then rooting as all you guys here are having to do here?
Looks like you can choose to "freeze" hTC sense and run another kind of launcher.
Like I said I am not too savvy in this department.
What do y'all think?
Anyone tried it out?
Is it super easy???
TIA

Give it a try and let us know if it works. ;-)

I haven't scanned through all 74 pages yet. But I have not seen any posts from anyone saying it works on the Incredible 2.

I would love to give it a try but, I can't. I don't have my own PC or access to one to try it on.
This would be great if we here could use this tool to easily root 2.3.4 (H boot 0.98) I think it is, with like a one click method or something like that.
Given I would still need a pc to do backups and such. I would love to be able flash custom roms, run sense 3.0, set cpu speed, free wifi hotspot, change icons... etc., et cetera. I needed a pc or a laptop...
Then again, I am always cautious to mess with things I don't fully understand. The benefits seem to out weigh the cons here.
I guess I need to come to terms with my own fear and desire on this one.

Well, I give up, I'll probably never root, so I will stop hoping for it & whining about it here.
Since a device has a locked bootloader there will probably never be a one click super easy root method, because you have to unlock the bootloader then proceed to root. (from what I claim to think I know)
I will speak of it no more.

I really should backup my sdcard to my laptop but I never turn it on any more.

Grammar Nazi note: ECT stands for Electro-Convulsive Therapy. etc. stands for et cetera.

While I am curious about rooting, I'm not all that interested in getting into the nittygritty details of tweaks and things one can do to a rooted phone. But with HTC offering this "approved" unlocker, I can do the following, right?

Install Titanium Backup and remove the bloatware programs
Install any other app that requires root access
Upgrade to ICS (when it's ready) from a 3rd party

But.. upgrading to ICS is installing a new ROM (?) and I'd lose automatic OTA updates? I'd have to do manual updates from whichever ICS ROM install?

The downside is voiding the warranty.. and possible software conflicts which screw up the device.

All ROMs block OTAs but the developers figure out what is in them within days and make things like new radios available. I've never taken out bloatware, I just don't use it. This phone has plenty of memory.
