My problem started when my HTC incredible 2 would only play sound out of the left ear when connected to head phones. I thought I blew out the dust, turns out, it was just pocket lint.
In between finding the solution to my problem, I restored my phone back to the original 2.3.3 OS, the verizon crap OS. Since my problem was fixed, I wanted to root my phone again. I installed ROM Manager premium and this program told me I could not back up, I dont have root access. Trying to do this, I messed up somewhere and now my phone only boots to a white HTC logo screen.
Here are a few options I have.
I can copy any files to my SD card via computer
I can get to the boot loader here is the stats it gives me

when I enter RECOVERY it takes me to a HTC screen and then puts me in the Revolutionary CWM v188.8.131.52 menu.
This is what I do before backup up... I enter recovery:
wipe data/factory reset
/data I wipe dalvic cache
I format /system
I have a few old backups on my SD card. When I try to recover to one of these backups, I get this error.
Revolutionary CWM v184.108.40.206
checking MD5 sums
Erasing boot before restore...
restoring boot image...
system.img not found. Skipping restore of /system
data.img not found. Sikpping restore of /data
.android_secure.img not found. Skipping restore of /sdcard/.android_secure
cache.img not found. Skipping restore of /cache.
Can I just take a zip file of a rom, copy it to my SD card and restore it? Do I need something different.
Im a big fan of clear, step by step instructions.
Any help is appricated.
