Default Get the stink off of silicon cases?

I bought a new silicon case for my incredible and it smells pretty bad(like diesel exhaust almost) Any way to get rid of that? I was thinking maybe dish soap but i'm not sure.

That's just the smell of new silicone: It's made up of the same thing as Diesel/Gasoline is. It's the same as the "new car" smell.

Good news? It will go away on it's own.

Good quality silicone rubber doesn't have a strong smell - was it a cheap case that may not have been properly cured?

Washing it with detergent and water certainly couldn't hurt.

I tried for days to get ride of the smell.
I washed it several times, used febreze and left it alone in a zip lock bag.

I finally made a paste solution of baking soda and water and cover the skin and let it sit over night.
The smell is finally gone.

It might have been that I tried for a couple of days or the baking soda.

Can't hurt to try.

Hope it helps.
