This will be a must for me as well so I can use it as my alarm clock. I do that currently with my BB. Set it in the dock at night, and it charges and wakes me up in the morning.
"If HTC had offered a charging cradle – as they do for the Nexus One – then the Incredible’s thirst would’ve been easier to live with; we’ve found we’re more likely to drop the Nexus One into its dock when we’re at our desk than we are to plug similar handsets into their regular wired charger. Unfortunately, not only does the Incredible lack charging contacts on the base, for use with a cradle."
there DEFINITELY is a dock coming. Remember that 25 or so page user guide that was released a few weeks ago with all the accessories in it? there was a dock on one of the pages, but might have been overlooked because i think the phandroid watermark was partly covering it... it's comin.
These reviews that are complaining about lack of a charging cradle obviously haven't seen the "Launch Package" PDF released a week or so ago. One is coming post launch....be patient.
Edit: Beat me to it.....here is a pic though

So the desk dock is able to read through the microusb slot, that's pretty cool. I guess there's hope for us afterall. Hope they make one for the car dock and automatically goes to car home app.

There is one, but it doesn't auto switch like the Moto.
I knew it was coming...didn't know if I had missed an ETA though. Thanks for all the input guys. This thing is a must have especially considering the battery life issues that smartphones seem to be plagued with.

Isn't that because its really a holster/car mount combo? I'm guessing so you can take it from your hip and put it on the mount? Because its always in the holster isn't that why it doesn't auto change?

Wait, do you mean for the car dock or the home dock?
That's just lazy and stupid that they didn't do that for the home dock. Fortunately I'm going to get locale anyway so I think I'll setup a trigger to go to the dock screen when I plug it in at home. I'm back and forth on what I'd rather have for the car dock... of course I would never get the official card dock since it doesn't have pass thru.

He's referring to the car dock. I don't know if it's been determined what the phone will do on the desk dock. It's debated whether sense ui can support landscape home screens which might be why the dock isn't being released until after the phone is...perhaps they're planning a software update to accommodate the landscape mode? Just letting my mind wander here...what do you folks think?
Docks sound like a great idea in theory, but they don't give them away. They're usually like $40-50 each. So if you want one for home, one for work, and one for the car, that's $120-150. And once you get a new phone, they are all totally useless, since they are usually designed for that exact phone.
So ya, I'd love one too, but keep in mind the cost until these things start to actually appear (and they will). Or make your own. It's really just a hunk of plastic with a microUSB cord in it.

Seems fair. Not like we aren't used to waiting with this phone.
