Default what's the difference between rosie and vanilla?

Apologies for the silly question, but y'all have been so helpful, I didn't think you'd mind.

Rosie vs. vanilla. What does that mean? Is Rosie another word for sense?

For example - I've been using SkyRaider 3...it looks a lot like sense. What would I find if I used a 'vanilla' version?

okay! that's it. Thanks

Rosie is the name of a theme while Vanilla is just purely stock Android.
