Do you have any other (older) nandroid backups you can try?

I understand, but it still beats having a non-functioning phone. Sorry your backup was screwed up. Bummer.

If you are getting an MD5 error that means the backup is corrupt.

I'm NOT saying this to rub salt in the wound but in the future, you might consider running Titanium Backup or similar in addition to Nand. Nice to have that double wall of security for apps at least, plus Nand backups take a lot of space whereas Titanium only saves the most recent restore. So you can do it frequently and always be in the game without using tons of card space.

hey same thing happened to me. did you rename the backup folder by any chance? after creating my Nandroid backups I went and renamed my folders. apparently some characters are not accepted for these folder names.

if you did then make sure the folder names have no spaces or punctuation. I had one called "Stock 2.1" that kept giving me MD5 errors until I renamed it to "Stock21"

hope that works for you!

Ok, I can see where that could be.
