Default What's causing reboots?

I was using Cyanogen 6.0.2 but it was rebooting randomly so I switched to Ruby 1.1.1. Instead of letting everything come in from my backups on Google's servers, I only restored a small number of apps and have been running it today with minimal applications running. Lo and behold, I just got my first random reboot. It must be some application that I'm running, but since I can't trigger it I can't exactly uninstall 1 app at a time.

I'm very comfortable in the command line (I do it in my job); is there a log somewhere I can read that would list what's happening? I'm not running any special kernels, but I'm starting to wonder if the phone's rebooting due to a kernel panic. Is there a log I can view this kind of information somewhere?

Cyanogen and Ruby are more experimental/somewhat less stable than the ROMs based on the official Incredible releases with Sense removed or the ones with Sense still enabled. That is why, so far, I am sticking with Virtuous.

I know, but there should still be a reason as to why I'm having random reboots whereas other people on DIncs aren't.

I had the same problem with 6.0.2. If you read the threads a lot of others are having similar issues. People have said it is related to wifi and how when with phone goes into sleep mode. I really loved that ROM and unfortunately I had to go back to something else.

What Kernel are you running? My phone doesn't like the KingsX kernels as much as the Hydra OCUV 1.13 kernel. Not sure why. However, when you're dealing with cooked Kernels and ROMs, my bet is that subtle nuiances in the hardware make bigger differences in stability. So while we all have the same phone they're not necessarily all the same exact build quality.

Hm, it happened a lot this weekend when I had WiFi off though.

Thanks for the input on ROMs guys.

Anyone know if there's a log file somewhere I can check out?

Download catlog from the market. It is a logcat reader and will help you get a better idea.
