Default Cm7 help!!

I've been running cm7 on my inc for quite some time now, but lately I've been running into a few bugs. Sometimes many of my apps will begin to fc for no apparent reason so I'll reboot the phone, but rebooting has also been a problem. It seems like every reboot takes longer and longer. I've been at the cm7 screen for a solid 6 or 7 minutes now and I still haven't booted up. I'm not running the latest version of cm7, I think I'm one or two back and I just haven't had time to upgrade. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! THANKS!

You're probably running out of space in the data/data partition (there is a giant thread on the low on space bug on the support subsection. Same bug, just no warning). Try going through the manage applications menu and clear cache and data from the latest apps (you can sort the list by size). Be advised that clearing data will erase all data that app stores on the phone. Must cases there really no problem besides maybe having to sign in again, but for example clear data from angry birds will erase all your progress and erasing contact storage will delete your text and picture messages.

Might get by wiping just cache/dalvik in recovery. If not may have to full wipe and reload. Check euph's idea out also by using root explorer to goto /data/data and check out your available space.

Thanks so much!! I'm still having a lot of problems booting up. My phones stalled at the cm7 boot screen for 25 mins. Is there anything I can do to get it booted up so that I can clear cache/data from apps???

Pull the battery, boot into recovery, and clear the cache and dalvik like iowa mentioned. The boot afterwards should take no longer than 10 minutes.

The phone still won't boot up so I went into clockwork mod recovery and i tried wiping cache partition and going into advanced, but after clicking both of those all that happened was i got a black backround with the clockwork mod hat logo. Nothing happened. I'm not sure what to do. Any other advice?? Thanks in advance!!

Use the trackball (press it) to select options, not the power button.

Do you still have a copy of the rom on your SD card? Try flashing it again with just wiping the cache and dalvik again... or copy the latest version and try flashing. The last resort will be to do a full wipe (data, cache, dalvik) and flash the rom again or restore a nandroid if you have one.

I do have the copy of the rom. So if I wipe cache and dalvik again and reflash that rom what am I going to lose when I bootup? Will I still have all my apps, settings, etc or will it be basically like starting a fresh rom? Because if it's gonna be just like starting fresh, I might as well install the latest version of cm7.

You won't lose anything until you wipe data.

Means everything is gone off your SD card. You can flash the latest cm7 without wiping data.

Mount the SD card to your computer, format it to fat32, copy the latest cm7 to the card and flash, just wipe cache and dalvik first. If it still doesn't boot, do a full wipe and flash again.

Just FYI, when you clear the Davlik Cache it will take longer than normal to reboot (it rebuilds that on startup). But that should be at a couple of minutes (to be safe I'd give it 15).

And as the others said, you shouldn't lose anything if you don't wipe data.

Weird, have any other SD cards to try, or have a card reader or a SD card slot on your computer?

Or can you double check that you SD card has been partitioned? see if any files show up when you choose the"install .zip from SD card"option in clockwork

Ok so I mounted with usb storage instead and was able to put the rom back on my sd card and boot into it. My phone is back up and running and aside from the pictures i lost on the sd card everythings remained the same. Thanks again for all the responses! They were a ton of help!! I'd be lost without this forum!!
