Default No Gmail push in CM7

After having a terrible time with Business Gingersense, I switched to Cyanogen Mod yesterday, but now I'm having a deal killer with that, too.

1) Emails are not getting pushed to Gmail, I have to hit refresh. Even then I sometimes have to wait for the email to come in. I also am not getting any alerts in the notification bar.

2) Although I had this next problem before CM 7 I'd still like to see if there is a resolution. It used to be that when I got a new email on my phone an detailed, it didn't take long for Gmail on my PC to be removed. Now, emails will sit around for hours, and even after refresh the emails and open it in a new browser window.

I do have Sync turned on in the general settings.

Thanks!

I've never had a problem with push when I ran any version of CM7 (or any rom for that matter). Maybe just try reflashing the rom over top of itself. Or try flashing back to a sense ROM and see if you still have the problem (obviously make a nandroid first, so you can easily return to CM7)

Your second issue sounds like a google problem but who knows. I think I've only actually checked my google mail on a PC once.

Someone else might have some more insight.

Assuming I reflashed the ROM correctly, I haven't seen a change.
(I rebooted to Recovery, then apply update from zip from the SD card).

Rooting and flashing hasn't been as liberating as it has been touted to be. I spent several hours on fixes yesterday, then having a problem with gmail makes me want to go back to all the problems with being stock. They were less than both ROMs I've tried.
Signed,
Frustrated

That's why I'm curious if you still have the problem on a stock ROM, your issues may be completely unrelated to the ROM and just be an issue with your gmail account.

[facepalm]

Since there could be other searching the forums with the same problem... I found the problem and it's a total newb goof.

Gmail sync was somehow turned off in Accounts & Sync.

Reigniting this thread as it helped me get my push emails working... Thanks.

It wasn't clear to me that not only does Gmail need to be set to sync in accounts and settings... But once you click on it, you also have calender, task, etc, AND EMAIL tick boxes!
