Can't connect to WPA TKIP

I just got to my grandparents house where they have their wifi secured with WPA-Personal and encrypted by TKIP. I've been trying and trying but can't connect. I saw a vague description of a possible chance of connecting by using a static IP, but have been unable to do so myself. Any help would be great.

Are you sure you're entering the right password? My Linksys is configured with the same security and I've had no issue connecting the Inc. Is the SSID showing up on the phone when scanning for networks?

yeah, i'm connected on my laptop but can't connect using my inc. or my ipod touch (2nd gen)

Yeah kinda tough to diagnose without being there. You might try the app "Wifi Fixer" from the market. Only other things I can think of would require your logging into their router.
