phone taken over by car panel!! help please

Although the car panel app is great for the car...does anyone else have a problem with the app continually thinking you are in the car? This app also screws up my settings. It also makes my phone not have any sound. No ringtones or alert sounds AND it also has a dock mode that pops up! !! I don't have a dock and never had one. Not in the car or on a desk. I have taken every app off my phone as well as called customer service for verizon and she did the factory reset!!! That what a pain but I was hopeful. FAIL. Hour later dumb car mode comes up and all went wacky again. Can anyone help me?

Has the phone gotten wet or been dropped/damaged in any way?
