I had the GPS turned off before, and that didn't fix the problem for me. Not saying it doesn't work, but just wanted to give some more data in case someone tries it and says it doesn't work.

I will give Headset Blocker a try, although using bluetooth headphones seems to work for me.

GPS has never been on for me, so that fix won't work. However I did install the Headset Blocker and it works wonders, thanks.

Hi,
Just an observation for anyone with skipping (or periodically muting) audio when streamed over bluetooth:
I had this just now after setting up my car hi-fi with a box off eBay that converts a2dp into two analogue phono outputs for sending to the head unit.
Realised quite quickly that the pauses coincided with my Desire's Wi-fi detecting a new hotspot.
Turning off the wi-fi cured the problem.
It's intermittent because if there are no wi-fi signals to pick up - no problem!

Hope this helps someone.
WS.

I had this exact same issue.

The thing is i didnt have this issue when i first got the phone so i dont know if it was caused by an update of somthing ive done.

I got the skipping more when i used spotify than when i used the default music player so i turned off my mobile internet and wifi and its seemed to fix the problem.

It's amazing how many new phones Verizon sends out for either software issues or hardware issues that the new phone won't resolve. What a waste.

Verizon replaced my phone and the new one is fine. Earphones are correctly identified and it doesn't spontaneously think I have a headset plugged in. Seems like this is a manufacturing defect with some phones.

Until I got the replacement, the app "Headset Blocker" mostly resolved the problem for me.

Default Pandora Skipping while using Cardio Trainer

I am having a specific problem when I am running, using the Cardio Trainer app (which I really like) AND listening to Pandora. Pandora goes in and out almost immediately and never really stays on for very long.
I've been searching the forums to see if it is a: 1. phone issue, 2. Cardio Trainer issue, 3. Pandora issue. I'll be honest, I'm still not sure. The fixes I have seen include: 1. Returning the phone (don't really want to do this), 2. Installing the Headset Blocker app, 3.Using different headphones.

Is there anything I'm missing? What really is the best solution? I'm amazed there has not been a fix from either HTC or Verizon. All I want to do is track my running and listen to music on my 1 Incredible phone!

Try runkeeper. I haven't had problems with it.

JUST got the Droid X thursday and tried to use pandora in the car today with aux jack. Voice prompt kept popping up. Works fine with my small ear buds though which have two rings. I'll have to see if my car aux jack has two rings...

Best option i have found is post 24 above
I am going to try headset blocker in post 50 and i will post results

Thumbs up

I can confirm that Headset Blocker solved my issue with Pandora skipping and the voice dialer coming up when I plugged my car's line-in to the HTC Incredible 2.2 headphone jack.

It happened particularly when I plugged in the micro-usb power at the same time, probably due to the angle I had my phone at putting stress on the headphone jack. Adding the Headset Blocker widget to my home screen seems to have eliminated that.

Hi all,

I've had the same problem and I would also like to confirm that "Headset Blocker" solved the problem. It's free in the Android Market.

Thanks again!!

So I guess I'll be waiting to get the new one to see if this was a bad phone or just a bug????
My first Droid Incredible 2 didn't have this problem. However I have noticed my new one(had to get a new one because I broke the screen) does, I am about to go talk to Verizon.

So, I took my phone in for this problem. She gave me a new phone and I have been listening to music on my headphones with it and so far :knock on wood and crosses fingers: no problems. I think it's a defect in the head phone jack in some Droid Incredible 2s, because in the first one I had I never had this problem, I had it in the one I got a few weeks back, and now today I got a new phone/replacement phone for free and it hasn't done it yet(knock on wood and crossing fingers ect).

I THINK I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION
whenever i copy music from itunes playlist, the music skips because the file format is .m4a and if i manually add songs from computer with mp3 format i have no problem at all even if i use headphones, even i scroll through songs faster, even if i have multiple applications running in the background. So, either just copy the songs straight away from your computer and double ckeck the song format it should be mp3 not m4a or mpeg 4 or something. it worked for me, hope it helps
I am using samsung galaxy s
:-)
