Default Weather Animations

My weather animations are randomly not working. I used to get the weather animation on the home screen when I unlocked, but I don't anymore.

For awhile, I would get it every time I opened the weather app itself, but I don't even get that anymore (though if I could at least get this back I'd be happy).

I have...

* removed/added the clock/weather widget and made sure Full Screen Animations is checked.
* Made sure weather auto-sync is on
* Made sure Update Automatically is set
* Mobile Network is always on
* Mobile Data is always on
* GPS is on

Is there anything else I'm missing that would cause this to just flat out stop working?

Trying going to the Weather program and see if your local weather is there.

i had turned off some sync setting and mine did not update.

Are you referring to full-screen animations? Mine only shows after I unlock the screen.

If it's still not working, delete the widget, then re-add it. It should give you an option for "Full-screen effect" or something like that.

Could it be that it's sunny? lol I don't think you get anything if there are clear sky's. I've seen clouds for cloudy and lightning during storms but other then that I don't think you always get something.

It was cloudy, they came back, so maybe cloudy close to sunny just doesn't trigger them :/

When it's sunny, you get a lens flare effect coming from the upper right corner of the screen and a wee bit of glare from the sun.

Hmm...I've actually yet to see this despite a sunny weather day.

I've noticed I see cloudy animations maybe 1 in 10. If its rainy, though, I'll see it every single time I unlock the phone or open the weather widget.

Maybe I'll just have to do a device reset and start from scratch.

do the animations last for just 1-2 seconds or does it keep doing them? You can view them all using "demo" under the weather widget

Just 1-2 seconds. It appears the cloudy animation works on unlock all the time, but I've only been able to see the rain animation when opening the weather widget. Do the animations associated with opening/viewing the weather app differ from those displayed on the main screen?

02 incredible: Add "HTC Clock" widget. 12 to choose from 3, include weather, I think only the big one that uses 4x2 includes animations.

Also, GPS is not needed for the weather/clock app or its animations.

Go to the middle home screen panel. Hit the power button to put the phone to sleep. Hit it again and swipe down to unlock. Don't touch anything, just wait.
