Now that there are a couple unofficial Dirty Unicorns Android 4.4.4 builds, this is now strictly an Android 4.4.4 nightlies list. Makes sense also since the original Dirty Unicorns link I had here disappeared.

There really isn't much of a difference between Android 4.4.3/4.4.4 and 4.4.2. There is somewhat of a UI change, especially for the Dialer and Contacts apps. The main focus for Google in 4.4.3 is security and trying to lessen the number of vulnerabilities known with Android. But that is mainly for official upgrades. The main reason for the 4.4.4 upgrade is fixing vulnerabilities with OpenSSL. Tightening up security means it will be harder to root and flash. Since, I'm assuming, we are already rooted, it doesn't really apply to us.

As with my other list, I am including the MD4 modem. I'm still running MD7 and have to flash MD4 modem. Technically, if you have the MD7 modem on your phone, you don't need to flash MD4. But I wasn't able to send/receive texts without flashing it. My suggestion is if your phone came with Android 4.1.2 pre-installed and you haven't upgraded the modem, try flashing the MD4 modem. If you have the MD2 modem, you for sure have to flash MD4. If you have MG2, MD7, MK5, and I'm assuming ND8, you should NOT need to flash MD4 modem. Additionally, if your phone came with Android 4.3 or 4.4.2 pre-installed, you will NOT need to flash the MD4 modem. There's a good chance you'll trip Knox, and the results won't be good.

I will add 2 versions of APN Settings fixes needed to connect to data. I still use the first one even though there is a newer APN Settings fix. They both work and they both will connect you to 4G LTE. But, in the case of one of them not working, you have the other one to fall back on. Unfortunately, the APN Settings fix does not fix MMS. At the bottom of this thread, I will post the MMS fix I use.

This goes without saying, do NOT blame me if your phone bricks. We all know the risks of rooting and flashing.

Flash in this order:
1) MD4 modem (Read above before flashing)
2) Android 4.4.4 d2lte Nightly
3) Android 4.4.4 GAPPS
4) APN Settings

I use the Handcent SMS app for sending/receiving MMS. Go to Application Settings>MMS Settings>MMSC and enter http://mmsc.vmobl.com:8088/mms?, then hit OK. And be sure to allow sending and receiving SMS/MMS for Handcent under Apps Permissions.

Extra mods for AOSP ROMs. Works on all AOSP based ROMs. Mods include LockRings, GlowDotz, Custom HALO, Scrubbers (volume|media handles), LockMax, Wifi Icons, Signal Icons, In-Call Icons, LockScreen Targets, Clear All Icons, etc customizations. Dirty flashing is acceptable, because being clean is just so boring: Themes and Mods - Welcome to The Candy Shop

That is correct, Android 4.4.3. That's not a typo. Omni Rom just upgraded their KitKat Nightlies to include Android 4.4.3. With this, you will need to flash Android 4.4.3 GAPPS, which can be found below.

Android 4.4.3 was just released. It started rolling out on the Nexus devices, as well as Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, and I think it's been released for the Samsung Galaxy S5 also. Before 4.4.3 was officially released, it was rumored that Samsung will roll out the upgrade for various Galaxy devices including the Galaxy S3. So, there might be an official TW 4.4.3 upgrade for the Virgin Mobile GS3, but that might not be until way, way down the road. It's just nice that the GS3 is not a forgotten phone.

There really isn't much of a difference between Android 4.4.3 and 4.4.2. There is somewhat of a UI change, especially for the Dialer and Contacts apps. I would've added this to my list of Android 4.4.2 Nightlies, but I figured this deserved its own thread. Flashing this ROM is pretty much the same for flashing any other ROM. Before you ask, I do not know if this will work with ND8. I haven't installed it on my phone. Personally, I don't see the point in upgrading the modem. But that's just me. As with my other list, I am including the MD4 modem. I'm still running MD2 and have to flash MD4. If you have MD2, you will have to flash it also. If you have MG2, MD7, MK5, and I'm assuming ND8, you will NOT need to flash MD4 modem. Greatness! :) I really don't know any difference between 4.4.2 and 4.4.3 at all. I'm currently on liquid smooth 3.1 beta (4.4.3) . To me it's no beta. No issues and force closes but I wish it had the features that DU had.. I'll keep this in mind

This is the ROM DU is based on. Doesn't have as many features as DU though. But you can use Xposed Installer with GravityBox [KK] to add a ton of features to the ROM. And GravityBox [KK] was just upgraded to be compatible with 4.4.3.

I will say this, Omni Rom is actually smoother and more stable than Dirty Unicorns. But that's probably to be expected since there are less features. I have not had one force reboot yet.

I realized that most of our Roms are based on CM and OmniRom. Kinda searched that while I was figuring out what sound packs feature did. That's probably why OR and LS are so smooth.

Exactly. I think this is the smoothest ROM I've ever used. And I've used many, many ROMs. The Omni Rom also has a very nice OTA feature. It operates just like it would on a stock ROM. Makes it a lot easier because you don't have to constantly flash a new ROM every time a new nightly comes out.

Nice! Got it added to the list. For some reason, the download links to this ROM kept getting moved. Almost been impossible to keep up to date with it. Thanks for finding the links. Hopefully, they'll keep them here.

Thanks to ertpecs's help (I don't know if you can tag someone on here) I was able to add Liquid Smooth to the list. I will admit, I did not personally test this. But ertpec has, and that's good enough for me. I'm currently running Nameless 4.4.3 and astonishingly enough, I'm not having any issues with it. Like Omni ROM, this is a very smooth and stable ROM.

Well I could've told you that. I was running Liquid Smooth 3.1 (4.4.3) for almost a week now. Haha yes it's amazing. Absolutely no bugs, no random reboots (unless of course my phone gets very hot) can't wait for all the new 4.4.3 ROMs to just come out. Even if DU makes it. It's gonna be great :) oh and about the nameless ROM. I like to download my Roms ahead of time. Not sure which one to get the latest nightly or the weekly? Wonder if it really makes a difference though. Thanks for these awesome threads!

You're welcome. I'm also glad about Nameless upgrading to 4.4.3.

Gummy ROM has also upgraded to 4.4.3. Both Nameless and Gummy and 2 of my favorite ROMs. I really like Gummy's dark theme. It's Black & Cyan instead of just turning everything dark. The info link isn't for GS3 but it does give info about the 4.4.3 ROM.

I'm sure more ROMs are joining the 4.4.3 party. I read PA will upgrade in their next build. CyanogenMod is said to have already upgraded but I downloaded and flashed the 6/8 nightly and it was still 4.4.2.

I actually have both ROMs downloaded and just waiting to flash them. But thanks for the help. Keep informing me of upgrades. I was not expecting this many ROMs to be 4.4.3 just after a week of its release. And it's crazy how AOSB appeared to be dead for 3 months and all of a sudden sprang back to life. I believe it's the only ROM using Sense task switcher.

Android 4.4.3 seems to be more stable than 4.4.2. I've ran 3 ROMs a few days each and had no forced reboots. It could just be the developers having more of a control of their ROMs. But I've ran every 4.4.2 ROM on my other list and either had overheating or force reboots multiple times a day.

Just moved CyanogenMod, AOSB, PAC-man, and Vanir ROMs to this list. My list of 4.4.2 nightlies is getting smaller and smaller.

My vote on this list is Gummy. I just think it's style stands out from the rest. Most of the ROMs on this list have the same features. Vanir does get my vote for most badass boot animation. If you like the Sense task switcher, use AOSB.

Well I'm on nameless. It's good do far. No problems. I went from LS=>OmniRom=>Nameless

3 more ROMs added to the list: Carbon, Slim, and Dirty Unicorns. I have to admit I was looking forward to the Dirty Unicorns update because of all the features the ROM has, or had. Unfortunately, the developers stripped a lot of the features I liked with the 4.4.3 update.

Finally some Roms I can switch too. I'm gonna go on DU of course ;) haha and well I would expect them to puzzle it back together :) you gotta start with a new fresh build when upgrading android systems even so you can figure out which things will work and which won't on the newer systems. Is DU a nightly?? Or just that build?

I think it's a build. Sometimes it takes 10 days for an upgrade, sometimes it takes 3.

Hmm not sure when I'll know when they'll update it but I'll check.. So I'm guessing it's missing all of it's features???

No, not all. But they did do a complete revamp. The Settings UI is completely different. Features like Active Notifications, App Circle, App Bar, Pie, Progress Bars, and others aren't there anymore. So if you liked all of those features, stick with 4.4.2 which is the 5/27 build. Every build after 5/27 is 4.4.3.

That suck. I'll just wait to see if they will do anything else. I just want a 4.4.3 with most features

That's why I was excited for Dirty Unicorns. It surpassed all other ROMs with features. Right now, it would seem that Gummy has the edge with features. And I really like its Black & Cyan dark theme. C-RoM is rolling out 4.4.3 upgrades, but nothing for d2lte yet. If they are able to keep their features, then that's the ROM for me.

I'm waiting for the next build of PA to add it to this list. It seems that AICP has pulled all of their builds. Friggen weird. AOKP hasn't had anything new since 5/24. I'm going to flash the new build of Lego ROM tomorrow to see if they're at 4.4.3.

This is one thing I wanted to ask. There are a crapload of ROMs I didn't add to the 4.4.2 list either because development has stopped or they lacked enough features to separate them from the rest. I still have the links though. Should I add them to the list or just not worry about it? There are around 15 other ROMs that I've found. Personally, I like options and knowing what's out there. But I would like other opinions.
