help needed please

Hello im new to the forums.

anyways heres my problem, today i bought a adata brand 64 gb micro sd card for my Samsung Galaxy Tab3 lite tablet. i came home and simply copies everything over from the old 32 gb card that used to be in the tablet. This is something ive done before with other things and ive never had an issue.

With everything now copied over i put the card into the tablet, i check the gallery everything is there........or so it seems, vidoes that used to work perfectly fine before im now getting an error message telling me it cant play that file type. Some videos will play then in the middle of it the same error message will suddenly pop up.

Also not sure if this is related but every since i put that new sd card in the tablet has been moving at a sluggish pace, and for some reason i cant sign into the twitter app.

im getting seriously annoyed, annoyed to the point of tossing this bloody tablet off my balconey.Does anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it. Any tips, your help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, sorry about the trouble.

First and foremost, check to make sure that you didn't get ripped off on the sd card -

Check out "SD Insight"

Counterfeit sd cards are big business, unfortunately.

If it is a 64 GB card, what class is it (class determines speed).

So i checked the app, downloaded it. opened it, and it immidiatly said SD card invalid...................if that what i think it means Im going to rage, and rage hard.
Set condition 1 SQ and spin up missile tubes 1 through 4 - the use of nuclear rage has been authorized.

It's possible that the card was damaged or simply suffered immediate failure (what we call infant mortality in electronics) but it's far, far more likely that it's counterfeit.

You have to contact the seller. If it was Amazon, even if an independent dealer, you'll get it taken care of, but it may take a few calls.

Sometimes dealers get screwed by this racket so start with an open mind.

If it's eBay, be prepared to kiss your money goodbye. Even with eBay guarantees and PayPal guarantees, all I've seen for nearly 5 years on this is a big runaround. eBay is the number one outlet for this crap despite their fancy words.

If they talked you into paying as a PayPal gift to avoid shipping fees or taxes, kiss your money goodbye - they have it on record that you gave the money as a gift, leaving you no recourse.

Best luck my friend, keep us posted and let us know if the seller is good or bad at the end of the day!

And just to cover all the bases because you have nothing to lose, try to format it with this -

https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

If it's just a seriously damaged sector, that's the one thing that will make it ok.

If it goes away into outer space for more than 30 minutes, it's counterfeit.

Honestly, I'll be surprised if this works - but it can't hurt.

If anything, it's either going to fail or tell you that it successfully formatted a 2 or 8 GB card.

Im a nice guy, last year i would have simply called buddy up and explained the situation. But ever since i moved to Edmonton it seems like buying things on Kijiji is so much more un trustworthy. Four times now ive purchase items from kijiji this year that have been fakes. Im annoyed and getting sick of this.

Bout five minutes ago i texted buddy up and told him that the card was fake and if he didnt give me my money back i would get the cops involved. Im so Pissed right now. I should have handled that better.

The Nukes are already flying man, and its too late to hit the kill switch.

Kijiji - an eBay subsidiary. :(

Well, I feel your pain, so I'm going to tell you what you already know - because buds do that, that's what we're for.

You've been ripped off before and you will be again - it's true for all of us.

Stick up for yourself but don't do our say anything that you'll one day regret. No matter how compelling or good it feels.

That said, good luck, I'm pulling for you.

Try that formatter I linked above - it'll help with questions about damage vs counterfeit - he may be an honest bloke that passed along the ripoff without knowing, and either way, can help determine the actual problem.

If he's local, he has a name to protect too.

Showing good intentions can help keep the situation cool even if he's not.

There's no percentage in beating you up, so don't provoke it unintentionally.

If he's a crook and finds out how easy it is to expose the scam he'll likely move on to something else.

If he's not a crook, he'll need to know how to protect himself getting into this trade.

Just my two cents, probably I sound silly lol. :D
