Your positive you only loaded the file in the pda box? I don't know what failing to do so would result in. I have no clue why a couple people have so many problems with this device, I love mine I probably would only upgrade to somethin that has a dual core cpu. Btw tiede and to wom it may concern id now recommend using basix\kernel + modems only. I forgot all the things basix fixed\made better over stock roms

If I didn't it wouldn't be able to boot, I am not new to Odin.

Because Samsung did a poor job with it. Use a good smartphone sometime and you'll wonder how you got by with this thing.

I had Basix on here at one point and it gave me nothing but problems, maybe it's gotten better since then though. In any case I put a stock ROM on here because I plan on selling the phone, I ended up spending close to $800 on phones in two months because this thing never worked right. Now that I have the Esteem I am happy with my phone, it actually works right.
EDIT: Does anyone know if Metro has replacement UICC cards available now? I think the one in the phone might have been damaged from the phone overheating.

that sucks man, maybe try removing the sim and reflashing. Or if you just dont care about it give up! Either way if there's a problem someone could probably fix it, and when i say fix i dont mean sell it . Also how many things have you done to try to solve the issue? Your not using the device no more so what difference does it make if you keep trying to flash it back to functionality? Just tired of it?
"Rumor has it that too much flashing can fry your sim card when doing it via Odin. Many developers suggest you take it out when using Odin. However, the only issue I have heard warned against is that is fries the sim card...not the ability to get cell service. I personally always take my sim card out.
Phones very from phone to phone. Yours may have had a weak point and it could not handle the flashing process. Glad they hooked you up with a new one.
Did you leave the battery in? If you do not some say it hurts the radio. Might be what happened as well.
LOL, there is a reason they always add...flash at your own risk."

Oh man I feel stupid. I just looked at the UICC card and I guess someone was messing with this phone and had pulled it out and put it back in backwards. The phone has a signal now!
Ha! I was about to suggest that...
Glad to know it's working fine!

I think I'm still going to send this in to Samsung to have replaced. Something is wrong with it, it is still running very hot, it's lagging big time and for some reason the Easy WiFi crap updates constantly (I think this is causing the overheating). Doesn't matter which ROM I install.

If you read the rest of my posts you will see that I am trying to get this phone into good working order with a stock ROM before I sell it. I upgraded to the Esteem within 2 months of getting the Indulge because it has never worked right (over heats, GPS doesn't work, compass points in random directions, LTE radio quit after 2 weeks and Metro pretty much refused to replace it). In any case the phone should not be having these issues. Even with Basix flashed to the phone it has tons of issues, in fact I left the phone on all night and the Market hasn't even updated to the latest version. I would just sell the phone as is but I am not shady like that. If I can get the video capture software to install I'll make a video showing what this phone is doing, that is if it'll stop telling me there is no space on the device when I go to install something from the Market.
Can anyone confirm if this works with es and basix? I havent been able to get a real answer and i would like to know if i could use this..
My phone recently went to shit after installing that tether app from the old thread...500ms ping on speedtest
Installing the modem file does work with ES/Basix. Not really sure if my phone is running any better for it, but it does work and isn't running any worse.

since you already tried ODIN to no avail and are still having the same problems, seems you got screwed from the start and having samsung/metro to replace it is your best bet.

It works if you just update the modems. That's what I did because I wanted to keep Basix and ES. Can't tell if there's any difference but I like to keep my shit up to date and current.

That does not seem to be an option at this point. Samsung makes you use their website for warranty repairs and they're not giving my the option for this phone (I have it for all my other Samsung devices). And since I upgraded to the Esteem I cannot get Metro to do a warranty exchange (not that they would, I fought with them over this phone).

SUCCESS!
I re-partitioned it with Odin and flashed the SCH-R910-EE07-k0nane.tar twice and now it works. The phone feels more responsive than it ever did when I had service on it. Now I can sell this without feeling bad about it. The partition table must have been corrupted from the factory.
EDIT: I just noticed it says LTE: Unknown again
EDIT2: Okay, I flashed SCH-R910_EG06+EF23_stock.tar.md5 to it again and now all the problems are back. I am going to flash the working firmware back and see if flashing just the modems works. But I need the pit file that goes with this ROM so I can re-partition the phone again since the problem has to be differences in partitioning schemes and I would like to have this phone up to date. That is the only reason I can think of that the phone refuses to install apps or store data (EasyWiFi constantly re-downloads the same network update with this ROM).

I was going to say take it back untill i read the part where it's not an option anymore, at least they let you keep the ol indulge when you upgraded. Why not just instead sell it to someone doing a little testing with this device? He/she might not care if it's in working order, if it's the hardware that's actually fualty that might be a different story, i'm not sure how samsung warrenty works but in this case even if you called them they'd probably just refer you to the dealer/retailer where you got it. On another note, my metro dealer/friend informed me of this lg connect 4g coming out sometime in the next 2 months, the beast has dualcore 1.2 or 1.3 copperon(wrong name but something similar) processor, 1gig RAM. 5mp camera, 720p recording 4" nova display screen, exceptional sound hardware i believe some kind of dolby mobile, they think it's going to be priced around the same as the esteem for 299. If anyone's looking for a new phone hint hint

Well... I took the jump and updated to 2.2.2 yesterday, so far I have installed the AIO Root/CWM, then I removed most of the crap stock apps and shut that start-up sound off too, then I also installed V6 Supercharger RC5.2 along with a few smaller customizations such as home launcher, no-frills CPU, and etc... So far my experience has been great!! To be completely honest the only difference Ive noticed so far (SO FAR) between Basix/Sheep and stock 2.2.2 with the customizations I mentioned above, is better battery life the speed and smoothness seem to be the same. So all in all; the only thing im really missing is that beautiful lady ElleEstGance hehehe!! I will post again when I either start missing some stuff I havent noticed yet or if I have some improvements.
V6 Supercharger RC5.2 can be found (HERE) just scroll to the bottom of the page.

Hmm, in theory, I would expect ElleEstGance to still work. I don't think it's 100% compatible, but everything short of the boot animation should work... (90% compatibility?)

Why wouldn't they, it is my property after all.

This phone is worthless for testing, and Samsung will replace the phone under warranty, they're legally obligated to.

I'll be sticking with my Esteem until they get something with ICS.
Successfully flashed to 2.2.2
Installed all in one root and ClockworkMod
But now how do I actually delete the bloatware? I'm pretty sure basix did that for me and I wanna see how this thing runs with out basix or es. Please help!!

Download a file manager like ES File Manager or Root Explorer and while in the file manager give r/w access then navigate to /system/apps/ and you can then move/delete the apps you no longer want, -OR- you can use Titanium Backup or something like it to just Freeze the apps you dont want.

"Use assisted GPS." is this new in 2.2.2? And if so, does anyone else notice an improvement on gps signal using any combination of the three settings now?
What are the major changes from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2? Are they really noticeable? Is it really worth the update the radios or wait for a basix and es update? All Im seeing is better 4g coverage and longer batt life? If I update then reroot and reinstall basix and es, will I still have longer batt life or just updated radios?

So should I odin to 2.2.2 and just leave the stock rom on there or odin the new tar and reinstall Basix+ES? But from what I've read wont that just revert me back to 2.2.1?
